Park in the car park to the north of the village, on the right as you arrive on the D114 from Serviès or Arquettes.
(S/E) Leave the car park by turning right towards the village centre. Follow Avenue des Marronniers, then continue along Avenue de l'Alzou to reach the old bridge.
(1) Cross the bridge, then turn right to climb up the right bank of the Alsou stream and take the path bordered on the left by an old wall. Pass a fence, then a pasture. The path then climbs to a small pass and continues through heath and pasture to a forest track.
(2) Cross the track to climb up opposite, using a wooden ladder in the embankment; the Bouisse path continues uphill through the undergrowth. You will reach Roc Taillau.
(3) Enjoy the view of the village below in the valley. Then continue south-east to reach a ford on the Ruisseau de Richard, where water rarely flows. Do not cross it, but walk up the dry stream on its right bank, then its left bank.
(5) Pass the Grotte de Richard cave below on your left and then return to the right bank further on to reach a forest track.
(6) Turn left onto the track to return to the village.
(7) After a short climb through the forest, you will have a panoramic view of the southern Corbières and the Pyrenees as you turn right to reach the orientation table. This is the highest point of the hike at 644 m. Take a break, then return to the track through a cedar forest.
(8) Take a break, then return to the track through a cedar grove. When you reach a clearing, turn right, then keep to the right at the next fork to reach a fallow field on the left, from where you will see the ridges of the Val de Dagne as far as the Montagne Noire (orientation table).
Return to the track and continue downhill towards the village until you reach the ladder in the embankment.
(9) Continue straight ahead along the track to the Moulin de Pradel lake, which is a great place to stop for a swim in summer. Continue along the left bank of the stream to the village square. Then return to the car park (S/E).
lovely walk and panoramic views!
