Easy parking on Route du Stade, south of the village of Serviès-en-Val.
(S/E) Go to the Abreuvoir bus stop. Head south, immediately turning left onto Chemin de l'Horte, a lane lined with plane trees, until you reach the Sou stream.
(1) Turn left and walk along the stream under the poplar trees, looking for the well-hidden gardens on the right. Cross the ford of an almost dry stream, with more gardens on the left this time.
(2) Go left to cross the road carefully and climb up opposite towards Pech de Rieux, which offers a superb panoramic view of the Val de Dagne. The descent is a little challenging until you reach a tarmac track.
(3) Continue straight ahead to see the "Menhir" of Pierre Droite and retrace your steps on the tarmac track to reach the village of Rieux-en-Val. Turn left at the town hall and church and cross the beautiful town hall square with a view of the remains of a medieval tower (private).
Then turn left onto Rue des Agapes, which leads to Route de Lagrasse, where you turn left again. Then turn right to cross the rest area at the stadium, which can also be a starting point. Cross the garden passage and follow the Sou again. Cross the magnificent ancient three-arched bridge with its humpback vault.
(4) On the other side, follow a well-marked path to the left along the stream. Pass the old Moulin de Castans mill and you will come to a three-way junction.
(5) Turn left and immediately keep to the left. At the Ruisseau des Garrigots crossroads, turn left to reach a ford where you can cross the Sou. Follow the D110 to the right towards Château Villemagne.
(6) A "mandatory" stop to greet the Hébraud-Carbonneau family, who will tell you about the vineyard and the Chemin des Six Sens (Path of the Six Senses) that you are about to take. This path was created from scratch on the estate. This place can also be a starting point.
Cross the D3, walk along a vineyard with over a hundred different grape varieties on your left and follow the well-marked Chemin des Six Sens, which heads north on the southern foothills of a plateau called "La Coque".
(7) Orientation table, informative and educational trail for our senses until it exits onto an old track where the yellow markings resume.
(8) Turn left, then left again a hundred metres further on the heath path, in the Natura 2000 area. Spot hares, partridges, etc. and hear wild boars. This pastoral landscape is magnificent. The Canigou on the southern horizon and the Lacamp plateau in front (location of other hikes).
(9) Pass the highest point of this route (285 m) and begin the descent. At the track, turn left towards the plain of vineyards and cereal fields.
(10) A beautiful view of Serviès-en-Val. Take the descent on the left, which avoids La Bedosse (private). Continue along the road and reach a crossroads. Cross the D3 and continue straight ahead on a tarmac path. From vineyards to meadows, from meadows to abandoned plots, you will arrive at Chemin de Gafart.
(11) Turn right and climb gently up to the village of Serviès-en-Val. Walk past the church and follow the signs that will take you left then right to the village square at the foot of the 12th-century castle with its four towers. (Take a detour to visit Philippe Aïni's Coop'Art in the old cooperative wine cellar).
(12) Turn back towards the castle and continue straight ahead until you reach Rue des Condamines. Turn right to reach the car park (S/E).
