Le Bois Planté

The start and finish point is at the Pâtis leisure area on the outskirts of the village, heading towards Mézilles.

(S/E) On leaving the leisure area, turn immediately right onto the Allée des Marronniers. Follow this road, keeping the Vipassana Centre in your sights at all times. To do this, cross the level crossing (cycle-rail) and then, after Les Clausses, turn left and head uphill past Les Pinons. Leave the sign for Les Bindeux on your left. Ride alongside a woodland on your left, then past a lagoon area on your left.

(1) Leave the road and take the path opposite until you reach the junction at the entrance to the woodland.

(2) Turn left, keeping the Bois de la Boulassière on your right, and a little further on, ignore the path on the left leading towards the Bois Planté. Continue to the next path on the right.

(3) Carry on straight ahead, crossing the Bois de Pimelle (fence on your left) and the Bois des Frins until you reach the hamlet of Les Frins.

(4) Carry on along the road until you reach a T-junction.

(5) Turn left and continue to the junction with the D132.

(6) Cross with care and turn left, keeping to the left-hand verge. When you reach a crossroads (with a water tower on your right), carry straight on for about a hundred metres until you reach the last houses.

(7) Take the path on the right, past a lodge on your right.

(8) Cross over and take the path opposite. At the junction with a cross-path, turn right and then immediately left.

(9) Turn left and, shortly afterwards, right (the paths are not marked on the IGN map). Follow the edge of the woodland to reach Les Usages. Continue by taking the track on the right and leaving the next one on the right to reach a cross-road.

(10) Take this road to the left for about 250 m. Head left towards La Grilloterie. In front of the property’s fence, keep to the right along the track. Cross a woodland, then follow the edge of the woodland to reach the road.

(11) Turn left and continue, keeping to the right of a clear-cut area which ends in a wooded section. A^first path appears on the right.

(12) Take this path, staying close to the edge of the woodland, and then cross through the woods. You’ll come out onto a wide cross-path.

(13) Turn right. Cross a road and carry on straight ahead along a winding path, which is quite narrow in places. You’ll come to a well, with the buildings of an old farm behind it.

(14) Head down the tarmac track and join the road. Turn left. Stay on the road and, at the bus shelter, head towards the level crossing. Cross it to reach the Pâtis leisure area (S/E).

The paths making up this route are muddy in wet weather, so it’s best to wear sturdy footwear.
The road from the start to Bois Planté should not put you off; there is little traffic. This section offers a few scenic views as well as glimpses of built heritage.
This signposted route, which complies with the signposting guidelines of the Puisaye-Forterre Community of Communes, is marked with the number 103 on yellow-backed plaques.
The signposting was carried out by the association ‘À chacun son chemin en Puisaye-Forterre’ in May 2021.
