Start from the Bois de Florimond car park: access via Rue de la Gare d'Harnes.
(S) With the car park behind you, turn left towards Rue de la Gare d'Harnes until you reach the first junction.
(1) Turn right and follow the path along the peat bogs. Then turn left, then right and left again until you reach the end of the peat bog. Keep to the right and, after the stream, you’ll reach the start of the climb up the slag heap.
(2) Go straight ahead then turn left to climb the slag heap. Follow the path to a fork.
(3) Keep to the right and continue to the end, where there is a lovely viewpoint.
(4) Turn around and return to the previous junction.
(3) Continue to the right and then straight on. Keep to the right at the next fork to reach the bottom of the descent.
(5) Turn left and go straight on, crossing Rue de la Liberté with care, then continue straight ahead to Rue du 10 Mars.

(6) Cross the road, then immediately turn left, following the road and the pond to the park entrance.
(7) Turn right and then immediately left and follow the path. To climb the slag heap, go round it and come back down on the other side, then turn right and then left at the end. Pass a flight of steps and then take the next path on the right. Cut across to reach a flight of steps. At the bottom, continue level with the ground to the right, then go down to the left at the next flight of steps. Continue straight on until you reach the staircase coming from the right: go down it and turn left, then take a first right-left turn as you cross the footbridge to reach the lake. Head left towards the canal.
(8) Turn right and follow the canal on your left until you reach the tunnel.
(9) Go through the tunnel, continue to the right and then to the left after the tunnel. Then keep to the right, go straight on twice and then turn left. Follow the signs for the car park straight ahead until you reach it, crossing a picnic area. (S/E)
