Start from the Bois de Florimond car park: access via Rue de la Gare d’Harnes.
(S) With the car park behind you, turn left onto Rue de la Gare d’Harnes until you reach the first junction.
(1) Turn right and follow the path alongside the peat bogs. Then turn left, then right and left again until you reach the far end of the peat bog. Keep to the right and, after crossing the stream, you’ll reach the start of the climb up the slag heap.
(2) Head straight ahead, then turn left to climb the slag heap. Follow the path until you reach a fork.
(3) Keep to the right and continue to the end, where there is a lovely viewpoint.
(4) Turn round and head back to the previous junction.
(3) Continue to the right, then straight on. Keep to the right at the next fork to reach the bottom of the descent.
(5) Turn left and go straight on, crossing Rue de la Liberté with care, then continue straight ahead until you reach Rue du 10 Mars.

(6) Cross the road, then turn left straight away, following the road and the pond to the park entrance.
(7) Turn right, then immediately left, and follow the path. To climb the slag heap, go round it and come back down on the other side, then turn right and left at the end. Pass a flight of steps, then take the next path on the right. Cut across to reach another flight of steps. At the bottom, continue level with the ground to the right, then go down to the left at the next flight of steps. Carry on straight ahead until you reach the staircase coming from the right: go down it and turn left, then take a right-left turn as you cross the footbridge to reach the lake. Head left towards the canal.
(8) Turn right and follow the canal on your left-hand side until you reach the tunnel.
(9) Go through the tunnel, continue to the right, then turn left after the tunnel. Then keep to the right, go straight on twice, and then turn left. Follow the sign for the car park straight ahead until you reach it, crossing a picnic area. (S/E)
