Lago Verde - Crosenna Alp

Leaving the Lago Verde shelter (S) heading north-east on a well-marked trail. Then follows an easy regular climb, which runs steadily through the pass under the Aiguille Gran Guglia.

(1) Heading due east now, pass by paths to the right leading to Punta Cerisira and Fiunira and take the wide military trails to the left that lead to the passes of Brard and Le Loup and finally Guillan.

(2) Then make a wide 90° right turn to begin the descent by the wide track, continuing on the right at intersections.

(3) Favour the right path rather than the track which reconnects below. 200 m further south, turn right again to reach Colletta Faure.

(4) Take the westbound track to the right as far as its terminus on the western trail.

(5) Reach a further crossroads and pass by the path on the right path to get down the one on the left leading due south. A number of loop help lose altitude keeping the hamlet of Alpe Crosenna, the end of the day’s trek, in sight (6).

Long, not particularly difficult hike.
Standard itinerant backpacker equipment is required.

The old military buildings of which only ruins remain. Indeed these bunkers and the surrounding barracks were mostly destroyed following the peace agreements after the Second World War.
