The main attraction is setting off directly from Font Romeu. Otherwise, other walks in the area are more appealing and wilder. The route is still pleasant, however, apart from the section through Les Airelles and the climb up to Les Bouillouses, which feels a bit like a ‘motorway’. It’s an easy walk despite the distance, as the elevation gain is very reasonable. We completed it in 5 hours and 10 minutes of actual walking time. It certainly doesn’t deserve to be labelled ‘very difficult’ – not by a long shot.
