The route is described from the village church.
(S/E) Head north and follow Rue des Pyrénées (uphill). At a fork, leave Cami Ramadier on your right and you will soon come to another fork.
(1) Then turn left onto Rue des Peatland, towards the campsite. Follow this street without heading towards the campsite. At the end, follow theGRP® Tour de Cerdagne, heading due west. This path runs alongside the campsite on the mountain side and leads along the hillside towards the village of Targassonne.
(2) Take a road to the right, uphill.
(3) Turn right onto the concrete road, leaving the GRP®. The climb is quite steep but not particularly difficult. This road is reserved for authorised users, mainly shepherds and paragliders, and is very quiet. Follow it for about half an hour.
(4) When the road turns left and crosses the stream again, a dirt track (more or less passable) continues straight ahead. We recommend taking a short break here and crossing the stream to see the pretty Arrel fountain, next to which is an authentic dolmen.
Continue along this path for a short distance, without crossing the cattle grid. Leave the path and turn right, following the fence westwards; a footpath runs alongside this fence through pastures and then between woods and clearings.
(5) You will come to a wide dirt track at a cattle grid, which you should cross to the right, heading south. The track descends to the Solana promontory. We recommend visiting this promontory for its sweeping views. A colony of marmots has made its home just below.
(6) Take the path again, which descends more steeply and winds around a bend.
(7) Almost directly below the promontory is a pretty fountain. Continue along the path until you reach a picnic area with a barbecue and fountain. Then climb back up to the Chemin de la Porteille.
(8) Take this road on the right, heading south, which leads directly back to the starting point (S/E).
