Lac Chambon, marshes and woods

Park in the car park on the east side of the lake: from the roundabout on the D5, take the D996b towards Plage Murol.

(S/E) Go to the southern end of the car park, take the footbridge over the Couze Chambon and walk along the lake, on your right, via the beach. At the end, you will find a beautiful path marked in red and white GR®30.

(1) Follow it to the right, with the lake on your right and the woods on your left, until you reach the start of the boardwalk trail.

(2) Turn right to explore the marsh. The paved path continues until it intersects with another path.

(3) Then retrace your steps.

(2) Turn right, leaving the GR®. About 150 m further on, take a sharp left turn onto a path through the woods. This will take you to a road.

(4) Follow it to the left and you will return to the beach.

(1) Return to the car park (S/E) by retracing your steps.

Very easy hike, comfortable shoes recommended. Very busy site in high season. There is another car park on the west side of the lake, near (3).
