Yellow + red and white markings
(S/E) Head south-west, i.e. away from the village of Santeuil. After about 100 metres, at a crossroads, turn left onto the D51 towards Le Perchay. Continue downhill, ignore a dead end on the left, leave Santeuil and cross a stream.
Yellow signposting
(1) At the intersection, turn left towards Us. Follow the small road slightly uphill and, at the top, ignore the turn-off to the right towards Cornouiller. Continue on the road, heading south-east and more or less flat, for a good kilometre.
Yellow + red and white signposts
(2) At the crossroads, turn left at an acute angle into Rue Léon Kersaint. Go downhill, cross the railway line at the level crossing and cross the Viosne. Go back up, pass a few beautiful houses and turn left with the road.
(3) At a fork (forest barrier on the right), take the tarmac road on the left, which quickly turns into a dirt track with a fence on the left. Enter the woods and ignore a vague path on the right. At a three-way junction, follow the path opposite which climbs into the woods. Continue on flat ground then descend steadily. At the bottom, the path turns left, crosses a short wet section, turns left again and climbs back up.
(4) As you leave the woods, climb more gently with a hedge on your right. Follow the Bois de l'Église on your right, then descend between fenced meadows.
(5) At the bottom of the descent, turn right: be careful not to take thefirst path on the right, which leads to a farm, but the second one, which is parallel to it at the beginning and runs along the edge of a field on your left and a hedge on your right. Climb between the fields, follow a wood on your right for a short distance (note the arrow indicating the next crossroads) and reach the edge of the Bois des Mares.
(6) At the crossroads, turn left at an acute angle and go downhill, first along the edge of the woods on your right, then between the fields. At the bottom, at a fork, turn right. Cross a small road and continue on the path opposite, with a high hedge on your left, then between the fields.
Yellow markings
TwoPR® trails intersect at this point; do not follow the one that branches off to the right with theGR®1. On the section up to the next crossing point, the markings consist of an arrow at the start and a yellow cross at the entrance to Brignancourt.
(7) At the crossroads, continue straight ahead on the D159 towards Brignancourt. Just before the sign for the village, pass behind the iron cross located high up on the right-hand side of the road and follow a path through the woods on the left. With a fence on your right, keep heading north-northwest and ignore the paths on the left. Pass a reservoir on your left and continue along the grassy path between two fences.
Yellow + red and white markings
(8) At the end of the path, rejoin theGR®1and turn left downhill onto Chemin de Marines. Walk alongside the town hall on your left until you reach a triangular square (Place des Tilleuls).
No markings
Then turn right. At the next crossroads, turn left onto Rue de l'Église, walk alongside the church and you will find the entrance on your right.
(9) Return to the crossroads and follow Rue du Moulin. Then walk along Place de Tilleuls on your left.
Yellow + red and white signposts
At the corner of the square, turn right and follow the D159 towards Commeny and Moussy. Note a wash house on the right and cross the Viosne. Cross the railway line at the level crossing and turn right onto the road that goes uphill.
Yellow markings
(10) At a fork (forest barrier), leave theGR®1trail on your right, continue up the road and pass a small cross on your right. Be careful, the left turn that follows is tight and the left side of the road is extremely narrow: for your own safety, it is bestto walk on the right-hand side, which is wider and offers better visibility. Continue along the road, between the fields and then along the edge of the woods on your right.
(11) At a right-hand bend, leave the road and take a wide path on the left. Walk south-east along the edge of the woods and then the hedge on your right.
(12) At the end of the hedge (signpost), follow thePR® JC4 on the right along a grassy path that soon descends between the fields. At the bottom, turn left and follow the Étang de Vallière on your right.
(13) At the pond car park, follow a small road to the left. Cross the hamlet of Vallière and come out onto the D51. Follow this road downhill to the left. Ignore the yellow arrow that invites you to turn right onto a path that enters a wood and continue on the tarmac road.
Yellow + red and white markings
(1) At the intersection you took on the way there, continue straight ahead on the D51. At the next crossroads, turn right and you will quickly reach the station (S/E).
