The Route des Muses from Hon-Hergies

Departure from the car park of Hon-Hergies Town Hall.

(S/E) Presence of Muse Lily. With your back to the Town Hall, on Rue Gaston Génarte, turn right and continue along Rue Gaston Génarte towards number 58 on the Cycle Node Network. Pass one turn-off on the right, then two on the left and a fourth on the right until you reach number 58.

(1) Turn right onto the D105 and immediately right onto Rue de la Gare. Head towards No. 43 on the RPN and, at the intersection, turn left onto Rue Maxime Ansieau and continue until you reach the junction with Rue Laurent Niogret.

(2) Continue straight ahead on Rue du Tonkin and go straight on until you reach a four-way intersection.

(3) Keep left towards RPN no. 43, following Rue Les Carrières du Bavaisis. Continue straight ahead until the end of the road.

(4) At the RPN junction no. 43, turn right towards RPN no. 75. Cross Chemin des Chapelles and continue straight ahead on Chemin Delmer. Ignore two streets on the right and continue to a large crossroads with a central island.

(5) Turn right onto Rue du Muguet, pass Saint-Martin d'Houdain-Lez-Bavay church on your left and continue straight ahead on Rue du Muguet until you reach the fork opposite the town hall.

(6) Turn around and retrace your steps to the large intersection with a central island.

(5) Turn right onto Rue des Jonquilles, heading towards RPN no. 76. Cross Rue des Martyrs and follow Rue des Lilas opposite until you reach the D24, Rue de Ruinse.

(7) Turn right, ignore a dead-end road and turn left towards RPN No. 76, Chemin de Breaugies (where you will find the Breaugies watering hole). Continue to Rue de Bellignie.

(8) Follow the street to the left and go straight ahead until you reach the intersection after the four-lane road in Saint-Waast.

(9) Turn right and arrive at No. 76 on the RPN. Ignore Rue du Curé on the right, take the next right, Rue du Vieux Chemin, towards No. 74. Continue straight ahead to the blockhouse.

(10) Turn right towards the Carrières du Bavaisis towards RPN no. 77 and arrive at the Ferme de la Tour.

(11) Turn left, ignore two turnings on the left and continue along Rue de Saint-Waast until you reach Bettrechie and La Muse Salomé on the right.

(12) Turn left and then left again onto Rue de Meurain. Continue straight on until you reach Rue des Paturette at RPN no. 77.

(13) Turn right, ignore the street on the left and continue to the next junction.

(14) Turn right towards the Carrières du Bavaisis, Rue d'en Bas, and follow it to its terminus.

(15) Turn left, go under the bridge, and then continue along Route de Bettrechies until you reach Rue du Stade on the left.

(16) Follow it to Château de Bellignie and Pierre Croûte (on the left).

(17) Go straight ahead at junction 73 of the RPN towards junction 71 of the RPN, Rue de la Place. Take a look at the Muse Calliope on the square. Just after house number 36, turn right and follow a small path to discover the sluice gates of the Bellignies mill.

(18) Then return to the crossroads and continue to the right (Rue Détour). Follow the D24 to the junction with Rue de Cotipont.

(19) Turn right onto the D24 and follow it to Vieux Chemin de Bavay, on the left, at the exit of the village of Bellignies.

(20) Take this road towards RPN no. 90 and continue straight ahead until you reach Chemin Royal on the left (dead end).

(21) Take this road and continue to Place de Gussignies, with the Muse Thalie. Continue along Rue de la Place until the next junction (Rue Émile Sohier).

(22) Turn right towards RPN No. 90. At the four-way intersection, continue straight ahead on Rue Charles de Gaulle, which continues as Rue du Calvaire, and arrive at a four-way intersection.

(23) Continue straight ahead towards Heugnies, towards the Carrières du Bavaisis, RPN no. 80, and arrive at a four-way crossroads.

(24) Continue straight ahead towards Eugnies. Cross the hamlet and arrive at a crossroad.

(25) Turn left towards RPN No. 54, cross the D305 and then take the road almost opposite, towards La Belle Vue, and you will reach Hergies.

(26) Turn right (Rue Wilson) and, before the church, turn left onto Rue Gaston Génarte. Continue to the next crossroads.

(27) Opposite the small chapel, turn left and continue straight ahead to reach the car park of Hon-Hergies Town Hall (S/E).
