To the west of Jard-sur-Mer, park in the Petite Bernarde car park. A path leads from this car park to the north-west, running alongside a stretch of water.
(S/E) Walk a few metres along this path, then take the path on the left that leads into a pretty wood of holm oaks. The shape of the trunks has been moulded by the sea winds, creating some amazing trees. Follow the signs to leave the woods and reach the cliff.
(1) At the top of the cliff, be careful not to get too close to the edge as there is a risk of collapse. Walk along the cliff towards the west.
(2) At a fork, keep left, as close to the cliff as possible. You will reach the Pointe du Payré: magnificent view of the Payré estuary and its meanders, Veillon Beach on the other side and, a little further on, Port-Bourgenay and even Les Sables-d'Olonne on a clear day.
(3) Continue along the path that heads back towards the rear, following the signs. Further on, the path approaches the cliff again and rejoins the path taken on the way there.
(2) Head east, this time, and take the same path you took on the way there until you reach the intersection.
(1) Do not take the path you took on the way there, which branches off to the left, but continue to the right. The path leads to another wider path. On the right, it joins the Mine beach.
(4) Turn left to go back up to the car park (S/E).
