Port de la Guittière car park (go to the end).
(S/E) Continue along the road and then walk along the beach. After the last houses and about 30 metres after the end of the woods, take the carriage road on the right (at the sign). Enjoy the oyster farming facilities and the mouth of the Payré.
(1) Enjoy the view of the marshes, with their many birds. Follow the path and then the road to the crossing reserved for pedestrians and bicycles. Take the Chemin du Grand Marais.
(2) Follow this path. When you reach the road, stay on the cycle path.
(3) At the first intersection, stay on the Vendée à Vélo cycle path towards Plage du Veillon. Pass through the end of the village of La Guittière. When you reach the junction with Rue des Salines, turn left. Continue until you reach the dead end sign. Continue and take the first path on the left (30 m).
(4) Continue along this track. At the start, you will see dried-up salt marshes. In autumn, there are magnificent red and green glasswort plants. Continue to the gate of a private property. There are many seabirds (seagulls, gulls, cormorants) on a large stretch of water.
(5) Return to the Port de la Guittière road.
(3) At the junction of Rue du Port de la Guittière and Rue du Bitord, cross the road (watch out for cars) and take Rue du Bitord. At the first junction, turn right onto Chemin du Bitord. View of the marshes on the left. At the end of the path, there is a beautiful view of the marshes and the village of Ilaude
(6). Return to the previous crossroads.
(3). Stay on this side of the road and continue to the first path on the left. Take this path to the junction with Rue Saint Henri Dorie.
(7) At the crossroads, take the shaded path opposite. At the first fork, turn left and continue to the end of the path. View of Le Payré and the forest of Jard-sur-Mer.
(8) Return and at the first fork, take the carriage road. Follow Rue des Parcs, passing the oyster farmers' huts and facilities, to the Port de la Guittière car park (S/E).
