Coming from Allauch, cross the village of La Fève towards the D 908. The hike starts on the right-hand side of the D 908 at a large green gate, which is the start of a tarmac DFCI track at an altitude of 230 metres. The car park can accommodate 3 to 4 vehicles.
(S/E) Take the DFCI track, which climbs north-west then west after a few bends. You will arrive at an open area on the left.
(1) Turn left to climb the hill and head in the opposite direction, following the road eastwards. The path quickly veers away from the road towards the south and climbs up through tall pine trees. You will arrive at an electricity pylon.
(2) Turn left at the pylon and join a large track at Col des Hirondelles. Keep left and follow this track, which passes by fire hydrant no. 628 further on.
(3) Keep to the right and arrive at a place called Les Grands Chênes at a signpost.
(4) Turn right towards Col de l'Amandier. The path passes between the trees, follows the bed of an old stream, climbs over rocks and large rocky steps, the staircase of Goï
(meaning 'the lame one' in Provençal). The views are superb. You will arrive at a flat section and another signpost.
(5) Turn right onto the path that descends and is not indicated by the sign. Keep left on the path that passes above a first cirque, then arrive at another steeper cirque, La Parloire
. Admire the beauty of the site, then continue on your way. After a section through the undergrowth, the path widens to reach a crossroads, the Pas du Figuier.
(6) Take thefirst path on the right and descend to reach the Col de l'Amandier.
(7) Head north on the track. Follow this track, which passes by an underground cistern (no. 134).
(8) Stay on the track, which has numerous bends (see the practical information section). You will arrive at the bottom of the Vallon de l'Oule.
(9) Turn right onto the tarmac track to return to the initial crossroads you passed on the way there.
(1) Follow the same route as on the way out to return to the DFCI track car park (S/E).
Beautiful views of Marseille, Sainte Victoire, the Pilon du Roy, etc. A very pleasant hike.
