Description of the walk

Park at the Source de la Tuilerie car park.

(S/E) Go to the far end of the car park, go through a barrier and turn left (west). Follow theGR®7(red and white markings). Turn left onto the path (GR®7) for 450 m, which climbs up to the Rente du Fays.

(1) At a fork, keep left and head uphill. Leave the woods, cross the D10 with care and continue along the path opposite. Walk southwards to La Rente du Fays. Go round the houses on the left and you’ll come to a junction with a small road.

(2) Cross the road (leaving theGR®7) and take the path opposite which leads into the forest. After about 300 m, first turn left then right. Walk westwards, ignoring any paths branching off to the left.

(3) Take thefirst path on the right. Head north, then north-north-east until you rejoin the D10.

(4) Cross the road with the same caution and continue along the path opposite. At a Fork in the road (elevation 383), keep left.

(5) At the next Fork in the road, turn left. Ignore a path branching off to the left and continue straight on towards the north-west.

(6) At the T-junction, turn right and pass the end of the Combe Cannot. Climb up to reach another junction.

(7) Continue straight on, now following the Combe au Frêne whilst ignoring all turn-offs to the left. You’ll reach a junction directly beneath a power line.

(8) Turn right (north). You’ll reach a cultivated field at a fork in the path.

(9) Turn sharply right and follow a grassy path running alongside the field. Pass under two power lines some distance apart. Ignore the turn-offs on the right, turn left and arrive at a triangular junction.

(10) Then turn right twice. Carry on straight ahead along a red dirt track, heading south-east, and ignore all side paths. Join theGR®7and follow it in the same direction. You’ll reach a junction at the edge of the woods.

(11) Turn right onto the forest road towards the Source de la Tuilerie.

(12) Leave theGR® and turn left onto a botanical trail. After a right-hand bend, rejoin theGR® and follow it to the left. You’ll soon come to the Source de la Tuilerie on your left. Continue along the path to the car park (S/E).

Thank you for this very pleasant walk in mid-October. Clean paths. Can be slippery in wet weather, but only on short stretches.

A very pleasant walk, almost entirely in the forest, ideal in warm weather and without any difficulty.
The only downside is the section between 9 and 10 in the sun along the fields in very tall grass (watch out for ticks!).

A pleasant walk taking just over two hours. A shaded path with no major difficulties. There are some lovely views of Mont Afrique and Notre-Dame d’Etang.
