In Velars-sur-Ouche - La Cude, park in the car park on the left at the end of Chemin des Pins.
(S/E) Take the dirt track that continues on from Chemin des Pins (southbound). Continue for 2 km on the path that follows Combe Notre-Dame d'Étang, climbing slightly until you reach the Jean Sage path (marked with white crosses).
(1) Turn right (west) to follow this path, which climbs very steeply (more than 30%) and is called "montée du Ouf" because at the end of the climb, a hiker has tagged "ouf" on a rock. After a few hundred metres of flat ground, join theGR®7(marked in white and red).
(2) Follow theGR®7to the left, heading south, to the Col de la Maille.
(3) Leave theGR®7and take a path on the right. Cross a forest track and continue straight ahead on a fairly steep path that descends to the Leuzeu farm.
(4) In this old farmhouse, which has been undergoing renovation for several years, a wealth of information is provided by the "Les Amis du Leuzeu" association, which has set up a room for hikers. Turn back for about 200 metres, then, halfway up the slope, take a path on the right into the forest (south-west direction). This path follows approximately a contour line until it crosses a forest track.
(5) Follow the forest track to the left, climbing gently for about 100 metres, then, after passing a barrier, take the first track on the right, heading south-east then east. This track climbs up to the Col de la Toppe, where it joins theGR®7.
(6) Take the path opposite (heading northeast) which descends towards Flavignerot, as indicated by the signposts. Continue straight ahead until the end of the descent and, once in the valley, follow the path on the left (heading north) for about 600 metres until you reach an intersection where several paths meet.
(7) Turn right, then immediately left (north-east) onto a path that climbs up to the village of Flavignerot. Continue straight on until you reach the D108G (Grande Rue) in the centre of the village.
(8) Turn left and cross the village along this uphill street. Follow the signs for "Chemin du Mont Calvaire". At the fork at the end of the village, turn right onto Chemin du Mont Calvaire until you reach the Mont Afrique telecommunications tower.
Continue straight ahead, keeping to the left of the installations. Follow the path, which levels out and offers beautiful views of the Ouche valley for about 1 km.
(9) Just before a bend, take a path on the left that descends steeply (westbound). Then turn right onto a path that climbs slightly for about 100 metres, then turn left onto another path that descends steeply.
Go straight ahead at the crossroads, turn right at the fork and continue straight ahead to reach the hamlet of La Cude via Rue de la Combe au Seuret. When this street joins Chemin des Pins, take the latter on the left to arrive, after 300 metres, at the car park where you started (S/E).
