Leaving Plombières-lès-Dijon town centre, take the Vélars-sur-Ouche road. After driving 2.5km, at the viaduct, take the D10 (towards Pasques). Continue for about 150m and park in the small car park alongside the road at the 1st left-hand turn.
(S/E) Start the hike along the white pebble path that leads to the edge of the forest.
(1) Follow the yellow signs for the Circuit des Sources / Combe Cigey / Ferme de la Pérouse. The path runs alongside a field on the right. At the first fork in the path, continue along the edge of the field (ignore the trailhead on the left).
(2) At the next junction, at the edge of the wood, turn right onto the path that climbs into the forest at the bottom of the combe. Follow the yellow markings. Continue for about 400m until you reach a meadow. In the middle of this meadow, look out for a small path which climbs to the left through the forest and leads to the Fontenotte spring. This small spring feeds a cistern.
(3) Opposite the spring, continue along the path to the right to find the meadow below that you left earlier. The path climbs to the bottom of the combe, leading to a plateau with superb views of Mont Afrique and Notre-Dame d'Étang. This open path on the plateau is surrounded by barbed-wire fenced meadows, and leads to the Ferme de la Pérouse.
(4) Pass in front of the farm and take the path to the left, which again crosses the plateau, following the red and white GR® markings, as well as the yellow markings (Combe Lancy). This north-west-facing path again offers fine views. After passing through a 1st chicane barrier preventing cattle from passing, the path continues to the edge of the wood after a 2nd chicane passage.
(5) At a fork, take the right-hand path, still following the markings. At the bottom (elevation 317), join Combe Lancy and turn right towards "Circuit des Sources / Combe Lancy".
(6) At the crossroads, take the left-hand path (yellow markings). The path climbs steeply to the bottom of the combe. Ignore the path enclosed by a wooden fence and marked private property.
(7) At the next junction, take the path on the right that leads to Fontaine des Pisseux. Retrace your steps.
(7) Pick up the path at the bottom of the combe and follow it to the right (North). Descend, then turn left along the path. Reach a pretty hunting hut, then a white track.
(8) Cross this track, go around the wooden fence and take the path running due west. Follow it flat for 250m and, after a right-left zigzag, descend steeply to the bottom of the combe.
(9) Enter Combe Rondot and turn left, signposted "GR®2 Au fil de la Seine" / Plombières-lès-Dijon. Descend this combe for about 1.5km, ignoring all the trailheads on the side. Get back to Combe Torcy.
(10) At the crossroads, turn right onto the path marked "Circuit des Sources". Climb steeply through the forest. Ignore a path marked "CAF" and come to a junction with the GR®7.
(11) Continue straight on, still following the "Circuit des Sources" at the edge of the field (leave a wooden fence on your right) and follow the "Route forestière de la Tuilerie" (sign). Go downhill.
(12) Before reaching the bottom, turn left onto the yellow "Circuit des sources" path. This path leads directly to the Tuilerie spring, where you'll find a gazebo-style shelter with a round table for a rest.
(13) Then turn left and follow the cultivated field. Just before the gated forest road, take the left-hand path along another cultivated field. Follow the path into the forest, continuing straight ahead. Keep parallel to the D10, rejoin it and return to the car park (S/E) .
The only downside, hence my question... aren't we in hunting season? I noticed in your comments that for some of you, you did this hike at the beginning of October, so please tell me if there is a risk with the hunters... Thank you in advance.
