The Parroy Circular Trail

Car park (rest area) located on the outskirts of Parroy on the D2, alongside the pond.

(S/E) Head north towards the pond and walk along its right-hand side to reach a small tarmac road, the Sentier du Moulin.

(1) Follow the road along the pond. After 400 m, it becomes a track. Continue until you reach a cross-track.

(2) Turn right and continue uphill. At the top of the hill, after a left-hand bend, you’ll reach another junction. Take the path on the right which goes downhill and leads to a crossroads.

(3) Take the stony path on the left for 400 m. Then turn right onto the road (Grande Rue) which descends towards the village. You will emerge in Parroy onto the Grande Rue (the village’s main street retains this name). Follow it to the right for 40 m, then walk past the church.

(4) Opposite the church, on the left, is the Place du Monument. Continue straight on along Rue du Sânon. After a bend to the left, the road slopes downwards and leads you to the village exit. Continue and cross a large bridge over the Marne-Rhine Canal.

(5) Take the small road on the right (signposted) which runs alongside the canal. Continue along the bank until you reach a second, very old bridge.

(6) Cross it, then take the road on the left leading towards the campsite, which you will walk alongside. After about a hundred metres, you will reach the D2 county road. Cross it carefully and return to the original junction.

(1) Turn left and return to your starting point (S/E).
