Park at the Maison des Cycles in ValJoly
(S/E) From the Maison des Cycles, turn right towards the lake, passing under the mini golf course, and head along the lake towards the pedalos.
At the junction, turn left as if you were heading towards the centre of the resort, then take the path opposite that runs alongside the Étang du Fond d'Amour lake, leaving it on your left, and the laser tag field. At the end of the path, turn right and walk up alongside a wooden fence. The path leads to a plateau near the tree-top adventure park. Follow the signs carefully, which lead left towards the equestrian centre.
(1) At the crossroads between the resort entrance and the equestrian centre, cross carefully and head into the woods opposite, following the signs. The path turns slightly to the left to avoid the ravine, which you will walk alongside overlooking it. At the end, turn left and carefully descend the gently sloping path until you reach the lake shore after a right turn.
(2) Turn left onto the tarmac path towards the bird observatory, adjusting your speed and being considerate of walkers. At the end, go through the gate, turn left and go up the stone path, staying on the widest part until you reach a house.
(3) Leave the path by turning left onto a dirt track. Follow the markings carefully and cross a fairly steep, often wet ditch with caution. The path turns left and descends quite steeply.
Turn left again fairly quickly and, after a gentle descent in the same direction, you will come out onto the tarmac path along the lake shore. Turn right for a few metres, being careful and considerate of other walkers, and immediately take the first access road on the right.
(2) This time, follow the path in front of you, which climbs steeply. At the top, the path turns left and joins a junction. Turn right, descending carefully and then climbing immediately. Watch out for walkers, as you are on a shared path. The path levels out; continue until you reach the entrance to ValJoly Station.
(4) Cross the road carefully and continue straight ahead, passing the small ditch to reach the woods in front of you. Follow the markings, which will take you immediately to the right and then further to the left, along the district road. The route approaches the tree-top adventure park without entering it and turns right near the district road, then turns left again between the trees and gradually descends towards the bottom of the ravine. Turn left then right, still descending, before crossing the stream on a small footbridge. Follow the stream that feeds the Étang du Fond d'Amour lake. Pass a hillock, being careful and considerate of any walkers, and follow the banks of the pond, leaving it on your left. At the end, turn right onto the tarmac section. Be courteous by adjusting your speed to that of the pedestrians with whom you are sharing the route and return to the starting point (S/E).
