Route des galopins in Anor

Mountain bike trail, accessible to all, all year round. However, it can be difficult in wet weather (muddy sections). Along this family walk, water is omnipresent (ponds, rivers, waterfalls) and there are numerous forest trails.

Description of the route

Departure from "La Malterie" (opposite the fire station), near the Café Rando Nord "Les Frangines".

(S/E) Go down Rue du Général De Gaulle, then Rue Georges Clemenceau, cross the bridge and turn left onto Rue Fostier Bayard.

Make afirst turn left then right and follow Rue de la Papeterie until you reach the Vieille Verrerie site.

(2) Continue straight ahead to enter the Vieille Verrerie path, which descends between the hedges and crosses the Ruisseau des Anorelles stream via a footbridge (take care). At the end of the path, turn left and follow the road alongside the railway line for 500 metres.

(3) Turn left into the woods and descend to the Étang de Milourd. At the end of the path, turn left to follow the road, which is none other than the old macadamised dyke.

(4) Turn right.

(5) Ignore a turn-off on the left and follow the Oise river. Continue along the Maka forest road and cross the private forest of Hirson.

(6) At the end, turn left and go up Chemin de la Neuve Forge. On the right, you will see the pond of the same name. Then continue straight ahead along the tarmac road (take care).

(7) Turn right and then immediately left to reach a crossroads at a place called Le Rie de Bon Feu.

(8) Continue on the right along the Petite Lobiette road. After 900 metres, turn left, then left again and continue for about 100 metres.

(9) Turn right, then right again at the next intersection to take Chemin de la Taille Colin. At the end of the lane, do not enter Bois de la Taille Colin, but turn left onto the grassy path.

(10) Cross the road (Rue du Grand Marais), walk along Rue des Anorelles, then turn right onto Rue de Beauwelz.

(11) Turn left into the woods and follow the path overlooking and running alongside the Ruisseau des Anorelles.

(12) Back on the road (Rue de la Galoperie), turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the junction with Rue des Anorelles. Turn right.

(13) Turn right. In the bend, turn right again onto Chemin du Pont des Bœufs. Pass the Pont des Boeufs and, at the junction with Rue des Anorelles, continue to the right.

(14) Go down to the right along Rue de Momignies. Pass the cemetery to return to the starting point (S/E).

Originally planned as a mountain bike ride, I did it on foot because it is accessible even during hunting season.
There were lovely forest trails where I could enjoy the beautiful autumn colours.
I'm adding a few photos to the ones already posted to give you an idea...
The tarmac section from km 7.4 to km 9.4 is of no interest.
My personal opinion: do the Forges route first before doing this route.
