Park at Kairon Church; a few spaces are available.
(S/E) Walk past the side of the church and follow theGR® markings which lead between the farm buildings. You’ll pass ducks and chickens; the dogs are tied up. This tarmac path turns into a dirt track as it descends, then climbs again. At the top, turn left onto the road, and at the bend just after, take the small path on the right that climbs uphill. You’ll reach a high point and then turn left. This wide path crosses a road; take the path opposite.
(1) You arrive at La Chanterie; take the road on the right. 200 metres further on, at the junction, go straight ahead (neither left nor right) onto Chemin de la Chanterie. This ends at a house; turn left so that you walk alongside the property, keeping it on your right. You are now on the Chemin de l’Étrier. Cross the D373 and, a few metres further on, turn left onto the road closed to cars. This takes you to the hamlet of La Bruyère. Once there, at the junction, turn right onto the small road known as the Route de la Deganetière. This road is almost level.
(2) Before heading downhill, turn left onto the main track. On this track, you are on the heights of Saint Pair-sur-Mer and have a fine view of the surrounding area and the mouth of the Thar. This track descends and reaches a small road; take the road opposite and cross the D373 (note: IGN map not up to date), continue straight ahead and head uphill.
(3) At the top of the short climb, veer slightly left onto the path that runs between hedges separating meadows and fields. Continue until you reach a tarmac road; cross it to take the small street straight ahead, then turn right to head towards the starting point, the church of Kairon (S/E).
