Description of the walk

Parking at the La Clairière du Verbamont eco-campsite (non-private car park) or below the campsite (three spaces).

(S/E) From La Clairière du Verbamont campsite, follow the road towards Henricel. Take the first gravel track on the right.

(1) Turn left onto a forest track between plots no. 169 and 168. You’ll come out onto a grassy track; follow it to the left for about 150 m.

(2) Join a gravel track and follow it to the right. When this track turns right (plot no. 647), leave it, veer left and head down off-track towards a river. Cross the river and head slightly to the right to follow the river (again, there is no path; follow the easiest route along the river). After about a hundred metres, you will reach a gravel track.

(3) Follow the track along the river and ignore all the turn-offs to the left. You’ll reach a junction (house).

(4) Follow the track to the right as it climbs for 500 m and look for a path branching off to the left, just before a slight bend to the left and a long straight stretch.

(5) Take the path that descends to the Ourche and continue to the right to La Forge Neuve (ponds on the left).

(6) Follow the white arrows and climb steeply up a path alongside a large rock. At the top of the hill, turn left and join the road. Follow it to the right until you reach the car park (S/E).
