Description of the walk

Car park at Retjons church or town hall.

(S/E) Take the D224 towards Bourriot, leave the village, and cross the Retjons stream.

(1) Turn right onto a very sandy track and continue straight on. At the end of the track, before the Gascogne motorway (A65), turn right. Carry on and go downhill to pass under the motorway bridge. Follow the fence around the rainwater retention basin.

(2) At the spillway pipe, turn right. At the Y-junction, keep right and continue straight on until you reach the four-way crossroads.

(3) Turn right. Cross a wide track (gas pipes) between the bollards, then carry on straight ahead until you reach the junction on an old railway line (numerous signs,GRP® 654 West, start of the mountain bike route).
Cross this junction and carry on to the chapel.

(4) Lugaut Chapel (Retjons).
Retrace your steps and turn left onto the wide avenue. Cross the Ruisseau de Retjons and continue until you reach a road.

(5) Cross the road and carry on straight ahead.

(6) Head slightly downhill to the right until you reach a very sandy area, then continue to an artificial mound.

(7) Turn right onto a very narrow path (just after a paved section and a table and benches). Follow this path (not shown on the IGN map) which runs alongside the Ribarrouy stream. Pass under the motorway and carry on.

(8) At the small Ribarrouy reservoir, cross the path and continue along the stream until you reach a large open space.

(9) Retjons picnic area. Turn right onto the D224 and follow it for a long stretch until you reach Retjons.
Cross the Retjons stream, then at the entrance to the village, turn left onto the small path that leads up towards the church (S/E).
