Park in the car park at the hamlet of Moulin du Pont, through which the D34 runs.

(S/E) From the car park, cross over to the crêperie’s car park and head to the edge of the D34, then make your way towards the large roundabout. Go round it on the left and turn left onto the wide path that runs alongside the Anse de Saint-Cadou (signpost marked ‘Moulin du Pont’ with a purple symbol).

Follow the Ruisseau de Saint-Cadou; on your right and left are green spaces with picnic tables.
(1) Continue straight on, leaving the road on your left – this will be the route back. Follow this small road, which becomes a cul-de-sac accessible only to residents. A little further on, you’ll come across two signposts: ‘Moulin du Pont’ (marked in purple) and ‘Grande circular route’ (marked in yellow); ignore them.

About ten metres further on, you’ll come to another signpost.
(2) Turn right into the private woodland; access is permitted provided you strictly follow the published guidelines. This path through the pine trees forms a circular loop that allows you to follow the cove as closely as possible and leads back to the wide path you left earlier.
(3) Turn right, leaving the private access road to Penfrat Castle on your right, and keep left onto a stony path that winds round a remarkable oak tree which must have seen generations of walkers pass by. Walk alongside the wall of a former equestrian centre. On your right, through a clearing, you’ll catch a glimpse of Penfrat Castle, now a charming guesthouse. Walk past the castle entrance.
(4) Turn right to follow the edge of the woodland. Some paths in this private woodland are open to the public , provided, of course, that you follow the posted instructions. At the end of the woodland edge, turn right onto the wide path that descends towards the edge of the cove.
(5) At the signpost, continue to the right into the deciduous woodland along the wide path running alongside the Anse de Saint-Cadou. On the opposite bank, you can make out, through the trees, Toulven Castle, which hosts private family and corporate events. You’ll come to another signpost.
(6) Turn left to head uphill, leaving the riverbank, and follow the wide south-facing path until you reach another signpost. Turn left onto this path, which is bordered by a stream towards the end, and complete the circular route through the woodland.
(5) Turn right to head uphill towards the exit of the woodland. At the small road, turn right and continue straight on through meadows and horse pastures. Pass the Penfrat farm (goats) and arrive at the crossroads by the Chapel of Saint-Cadou (sign: ‘chapel 300 m’).
(7) Turn right and head towards the chapel and its fountain.
Just before this, on the right, note the “Ferme de Tobie”, an old farm currently being restored, which provides a welcome centre for parents of children with disabilities (information sign).
The setting of the late 15th-century chapel, built of granite and roofed with slate, along with its oratory, calvary and fountain, makes for an ideal spot to take a break.

(8) Set off in the opposite direction, staying on the small road or the wide path without going back through the woods.

(2) Let the signposted route head off to the right and continue straight on, following the path in the opposite direction to the outward journey.
(1) Turn right onto the street and, before reaching the houses, take a pedestrian crossing which leads to a dead end. Continue to the right, then turn left to reach the car park on the right (S/E).
