Description of the walk

Park in the Kuendu Beach Resort car park; it’s a large, shaded car park.

(S/E) Walk to the beach, turn left and follow the beach. Take the small path that climbs up and runs alongside the bay. Join the track on the ridge. Walk to the very end.

(1) Head down the small path leading to the first cove. Be careful – the slope is very steep and slippery. Climb over the few rocks and head left onto the coral beach. Walk along the beach; there are small stone ledges on the left where you can stop.

Head back up the path on the left just before the end of the coral beach. Walk along the seashore, either on the track or through the low grass. Take the path on the right and head down to the red stone square.

(2) Walk along the beach. Head up to the left before you reach the sandy beach. Join the track, turn left and walk up the hill. Walk down the track to reach the car park at Kuendu Beach Resort (S/E).

A lovely walk very close to Nouméa. The start of the route isn’t very well maintained, and further on, the path running along the coast offers various options. For example, we chose to continue along the route via the coral beach rather than climbing back up the embankment, but on arrival, this isn’t a problem as it’s easy to rejoin the route.
It’s a lovely walk worth doing again; the start is a bit tricky but doesn’t last long.
