Description of the walk

Park south of the Ancre Marine roundabout at the end of Avenue du Général De Gaulle.

(S/E) Head north, going round the roundabout on the right and following the edge of Parc Charles de Gaulle. At the end, turn right onto Rue François Ecorchon. Continue straight on, past the school, until you reach Rue Émile Zola.

(1) Turn right into the dry forest of Mont Vénus. Stay on the path furthest to the right. It heads south and reaches a crossroads some 200 m further on.

(2) Take the slope on the left, then head right to leave the park and reach Rue René Coty. Turn left and follow the street due north, enjoying the view as you make your way to Mont Vénus and its panoramic vista.

(3) Continue straight on, keeping the same direction. Pass Rue Lacave-Laplagne on your right, then turn left to follow Rue du Maréchal Leclerc and reach Mont Coffyn. Head to the right to walk around it and enjoy the panoramic view.

(4) Retrace your steps to the previous junction and turn right onto Rue du Maréchal Leclerc. This leads onto Rue du Général Sarrail.

(5) Turn right, then head towards Port Moselle by turning left onto Rue Duquesne. You’ll reach the American and New Zealand memorials a little further on, after crossing Avenue du Maréchal Foch.

(6) Continue straight on Rue Duquesne, then, at Rue d'Austerlitz, turn right to pass in front of the bar "Le Bout du Monde", and head north towards the Marché de Moselle.

(7) Walk along the harbour as you head back down, continuing until you reach a barrier marking the southern boundary.

(8) Turn back towards the bar, turn right towards Route des Artifices, then right again to follow it. Then turn left to cross the road and join Rue Louis Flize, which leads back to Baie de l’Orphelinat on the north side. Continue along Rue Adolphe Barrau and, after a left-hand bend, join Rue Gustave Flaubert.

(9) Turn right onto Avenue du Général de Gaulle and, on the right, follow the road and the bay until you return to the roundabout and the car park (S/E).
