Go to Ecole en Bauges and park beyond the Les Landagnes stopover lodge. GPS 32T 278 900; 5059 300
(S) The trail starts right next to a small water treatment plant. It begins as a wide path, which you leave after 200 metres; a sign indicates the direction to follow: Les Aillons - La Fullie.
The trail is then clearly marked in yellow and red, sometimes punctuated with red and white markings specific toGR® trails. All you have to do is follow the trail.
The trail climbs through the forest and then emerges at an altitude of 1,000 metres in the small clearing of the Saint Bernard chapel.
(1) Shortly after the chapel, leave the path on the right that leads to La Compôte; junction with theGR® 96. In fact, just follow the main direction.
At an altitude of 1,300 metres, the trail opens onto a mountain pasture.
(2) The Col de la Fullie is not far away. The chalets of the same name are a little higher up and will soon appear on the ridge. To reach them, head southwest. Reach the chalets.
(3) Turn back, as further on the path is dominated by the slopes of Mont Colombier, and an avalanche could quickly occur.
Return by the same route in the opposite direction and return to the car park (E).
... but then again, it was a Friday.
