2. With own transport. suggested parking and start point
or
3. The train station at Redruth is only a short distance from the route

(S/E) From the bus stop, head West along Agar Road, taking the first left heading South. At the traffic lights on A3047, continue South along "Druids Road" to cross the Railway Bridge. Continue South again and see earthworks on the right and waste ground on the left. See the path straight ahead, and continue.

(1) At the junction of the path and designated "metalled" footpath - "The Great Flat Lode, The Miners Trail", turn left heading East for 1 Km approx. Where the metalled path divides, straight on and down do not take this route. There is signage for straight ahead and turning right. Turn right onto a gravel track for a further 1 km approx until meeting some old cottages, the end of the track.

(2) At the cottage, turn left (East) down the farm track to a country road, turning left and continue North for some 750m on the right "Miners Trail Map".

(3) Turn sharp right and up the hill at the "Miners Trail Map" following the designated "Miners Trail" signage. Continue on this track for some 1.25 Km at the end of the track which meets up with a road. Cross directly opposite South-East - Copper Hill and continue to the main road at Buller Hill (B3297).

(4) Cross Buller Hill road (B3297) directly opposite, in an Easterly direction. See a converted Chapel on the left. Continue for a further 1 Km. Where the path ends, see a large covered water tank, turn left, and follow the road to the main Lanner Hill (A393).

(5) Cross the main road directly opposite (North-East), and continue on the metalled road to Wheal Amelia, disused mine workings. On the left go past the old Chimeny road divides.

(6) Take the left track up the hill, and see the sign with no vehicle access. Continue up in a North-East direction. As the hill track levels on the left are an old quarry converted into an open-air theatre. Carry straight on. At the top of the hill, see the viewing map and the landscape, the water-filled quarry. Continue to the top of the hill and see "Trig Point".

(7) Pick up the path which starts to drop down between a hedge and an overgrown fence.

(8) As it levels out the entrance to an old quarry working where the rock face has multiple drill holes, where mining drills were tested, continue on down the track as the track becomes a road.

(9) At the Y-junction turn left North-West. Continue following this lane 750m to a main road "Sandy Lane" (A393). Cross the road on a left then right heading, a lane/designated track leading behind the house. Continue going downhill, the route down is "dog-legged".

(10) The roads go downhill but dog legs, provided that the route is down and approx West-South-West, will take you to the main road which will join up with the intended route, which is at the main Falmouth road (B3300).

(11) Turn right (North-West) and down, see the railway bridge. Entering Redruth, see an old Fire Station Council Offices and theatre, more old buildings and history further into the town.

(12) Turn left (South-West) at the traffic lights, head West follow the road past the roundabout cross some off-roads. Noting the bus stops, you can finish here or return to the start point. (S/E)
