Hamlets and countryside from Bourg-Beaudouin

Park in the car park of the Bourg-Beaudouin community hall, Rue de l’Église.

(S/E) With your back to the hall, head right along Rue de l’Église for about thirty metres.
Turn left onto Rue de la Mare Durand, walk past the sports ground and continue to the pond.

(1) Take the path immediately on the right. When you reach the junction, turn left towards the church.

(2) At the corner, turn right onto Rue des Canadiens. Take the^first path on the left, which runs alongside the houses and then crosses the fields. You’ll reach a small road.

(3) Follow it to the right until you reach the next grassy track on the left. Continue across the fields until you reach a road.

(4) Take this road to the left until you reach a right-angled bend. Head straight on along the grassy track, the entrance to which is protected by a wooden gate. Join a road and head left until you reach the next wide track running diagonally across.

(5) Turn right onto this path, which becomes stony, and pass the sewage treatment plant on your left. Continue slightly downhill to the edge of the woods.

(6) Turn sharply left onto the grassy path, passing through the chain barrier. Continue straight up the wide path between two fields, towards a horizontal wooden post. Don’t hesitate to turn round and admire the surrounding rolling countryside.
When you reach the road, follow it to the right until you come to the junction with the RD6014. Turn right and carry on until^{the first} junction.

(7) Turn left at the signpost for Canteloup le Bocage. Continue along this small road to the entrance to the hamlet, leaving a path on your left which will be your return route.

(8) At the wayside cross, turn right and carry on to the village of Vandrimare.

(9) At the crossroads, turn left, passing between the church and the castle. Carry on straight ahead, passing the town hall and the school on your left. Ignore the cemetery lane on the left but stay on the road which turns left, following the sign for the Centre Socio-Culturel. Follow the bends through the woods until you reach a crossroads.

(10) Take the left-hand road, Rue du Fayel. Pass the Fayel stables on your right and continue along this road until you reach the sign for Renneville.
You can take a short detour to see a castle by turning right.
Otherwise, head straight on to the left.

(11) Turn left, pass the wayside cross on your right, then continue to the hamlet of Le Bois de Canteloup.

(12) Turn left at the sign for the Chemin de Saint-Blaise, then turn left again into the cul-de-sac, which continues as a stony path through the woods and up into the plain. Pass the houses on your right and carry on straight ahead to reach the wayside cross you passed on the way there.

(8) Carry on straight ahead until you reach the^first path.
Turn right onto it until you reach a road.

(13) Follow the road to the left. Reach the RD6014, cross it carefully, turn left, then right at the corner by the town hall to return to the starting point (S/E).
