The Lake of the Two Lovers

Start of the hike: The Jonquemare Pond.

(S/E) Take Rue du Chouquet towards the Longboël Forest. Further on, keep the forest on your left.

(1) Turn left and head towards the forest, then enter it.

(2) At the next fork, take the right-hand path. Continue straight ahead until the next intersection.

(3) At the crossroads, take the left-hand path, follow it straight ahead and you will arrive at the D321.

(4) Take care when crossing the departmental road and continue straight ahead on Rue du Bosc. Cross Rue des Moulins and continue on Rue de la Ravine.

(5) Turn right onto Rue des Écluses. Enjoy the Parc des Flotteaux. Keep left at the roundabout. Follow the signs when crossing the railway line.

(6) Cross the bridge over the River Andelle. At the intersection, keep left on Rue des Écluses. Then turn left to follow the Seine. Go straight ahead and pass the Guinguette des Écluses.

(7) Shortly afterwards, go up onto the bridge to cross the Poses Dam.

(8) At the end of the dam, you will see a fish observatory and the village of Poses on your left. Turn right and follow the greenway along Quai du Barrage.

(9) After leaving the Seine, at the intersection, follow Rue du Port on your right. At the next intersection, continue along Rue du Port. At the roundabout, continue along Rue des Masures. (The Île Adeline campsite offers food to eat in or take away.) Cross the departmental road carefully to reach Lac des Deux Amants.

(10) Retrace your steps along the same route you took on the way there:

Turn around and head towards the Île Adeline campsite on Rue du Port.

(9) Then follow the greenway on Quai du Barrage.

(8) Cross the dam again.

(7) Turn left. Then pass the open-air café on Rue des Écluses and continue to Pîtres. At the intersection, continue right on Rue des Écluses. At the roundabout, turn right, staying on Rue des Écluses.

(5) At the next intersection, follow Rue de la Ravine on your left. Then continue straight ahead towards the Longboël Forest and cross the departmental road with caution.

(4) Continue straight ahead towards the forest. At the crossroads, enter the grove.

(3) At the next crossroads, take the path on the right. Continue straight ahead until you leave the forest.

(1) Then turn right to rejoin Rue du Chouquet. You will then find the Mare Jonquemare de La Neuville-Chant-d'Oisel (S/E).

(S) Free parking on Rue des Andelys.

La Guinguette des Écluses.
