The route begins with a short circular loop along the “Sentier de la Grosse Ragie”, which will allow you to discover or rediscover the tree species and animals that inhabit our forests. It will then take you along a section of the Way of St James, past pretty little ponds, before crossing over to the “Sentier des Bornes du Pays de Montbéliard”.

Froidefontaine was founded around 1100, when monks from Cluny established a priory in a marshy area. All that remains of the Benedictine monastery church is the 12th-century Romanesque apse. Three human heads can be seen on the cornice. The gravestones on either side of the portal date from 1750. The presbytery next to the church is remarkable for its size.

The ‘Enchanted Forest’ walk and the ‘Sentier des Faînes’ in Boncourt, a border village in the Swiss Jura, is a short walk through the forest featuring wooden sculptures depicting famous cartoon characters. A fun little walk to enjoy with the family.
