Flaviac walks

A magnificent walk through deciduous woodland offering beautiful panoramic views of the Monts d'Ardèche, the Ouvèze and Rhône valleys, and the Vercors.

A short climb takes you to Les Grads and on to the ridges, followed by a gentle descent with views of the Saint-Julien chapel.

Apart from the distance, this is an easy hike on good trails through typical Ardèche landscapes. At the summit, there are beautiful views of the Rhône and Ouvèze valleys and, at the end of the walk, you can discover the famous Jaubernie caves, which served as troglodyte dwellings for Protestants driven out of Privas during the Wars of Religion.

In the heart of the Ardèche countryside, a route taking in the Serre de Gruas, the small village of Chambon-de-Bavas and the ruins of the Saint-Quintin farm. Panoramic views of the Drôme valley, the Trois Becs and the Vercors, and on the other side, the Monts d'Ardèche park. The hike can be shortened to 14/15 kilometres.

A magnificent circular walk from Alissas with a detour to the Gournier waterfall and a view of the Château de Rochessauve.

A short, easy family walk offering a 360° view of the Rhône and the plains of the Drôme, in front of the foothills of the Diois and the Trois Becs.

Circular walk starting from the Champ de Mars in Privas. The walk takes you up to Liviers Castle via the Escaliers de Ternis, the Neuve bathing spot and the hamlet of Ladreyt. The descent follows a lovely path down to the hamlet of Villeneuve. On the way back, you can continue on to the Rocher de la Sorcière via Le Petit Tournon.

This is a very pleasant walk that quickly takes you to the Grads plateau, which overlooks Pouzin and the confluence of the Ouvèze and Rhône rivers. The path overlooking the Ouvèze valley is very pleasant but may be vertiginous for some. The ridges offer a beautiful panoramic view of the Baronnies and the Vercors. Never stray from the route, which is now very well marked.

Discover the ruins of the Couvent des Chèvres overlooking the Rhône valley and then the hamlet of Vieux Rompon. The return trail is a pleasant walk along the cliffs above the Ouvèze with magnificent views.

This lovely, easy hike is suitable for families. The few châteaux near the trail will take you back in time, and you will be enchanted by the many views of the Chomérac valley and Saint-Lager-Bressac.

This walk offers a wide variety of scenery: in the Bressac woods you look down on the River Sichier, then on the ridge you have a magnificent view of the Saint-Vincent-de-Barrès valley.

This circular loop above the Eyrieux leads to the pretty hamlet of Conjols and offers beautiful views of the Eyrieux Valley. Due to some steeper and stony sections before Conjols, this short walk has been rated as moderately difficult. The return journey is along beautiful paths and then the Voie Verte cycle path along the Eyrieux.

A lovely, easy hike that will allow you to discover Pranles' three remarkable sites (in season): the Moulin de Mandy, the Romanesque church and the Protestant Museum. It can be done with children aged around ten, provided they are fit enough to cover the distance. There are also beautiful views of the knolls and volcanoes and, further away, the Alps (in good weather).

This short route allows you to appreciate a different side of this area through the orchards as you gently climb above the Eyrieux valley. It continues through distinctly Mediterranean vegetation before winding its way down through a majestic forest where deciduous trees, thorny bushes and boxwood grow side by side.

This hike around the Lérou plateau will enchant you with its diverse views. This route will allow you to discover various geological phenomena: basalt blocks, basalt veins, etc.

A long and beautiful hike in the heart of the Monts d'Ardèche Regional Nature Park, offering beautiful panoramic views of the Vercors and Diois.The Dunière Gorges, the Eyrieux Valley, terraced landscapes, a beautiful variety of scenery showcasing the diversity of the Monts d'Ardèche.

A short half-day outing. No major difficulties except for the short but intense descent around the climbing site. On the Combes trail and at the top of the climbing site, there are some very pretty views down onto the Eyrieux valley and the greenhouses opposite. On the way back, after Le Doulet, there is a pleasant walk along the river where waterfalls and pools follow one another in succession.

Starting from Pierre Plantée, this beautiful route offers magnificent panoramic views of Coiron, the Ouvèze and Mézayon valleys, Baronnies and Vercors. An interesting discovery is the site of the former Priory of Charray. Please note that some sections of the balcony trail may be uncomfortable for those prone to vertigo.

A lovely circular route starting from Saint-Fortunat-sur-Eyrieux leading to the Col d’Aurelle (582 m) through woods of holm oaks, pines and chestnut trees. The climb offers beautiful views over the Eyrieux Valley. The return route via the hamlets of Crumière and Le Cros allows you to discover the rural heritage of the Ardèche.

A very pleasant route through the Ardèche forest and its peaceful little hamlets. The omnipresent calm allows you to recharge your batteries and become one with nature.

The start of the route is flat on the Dolce Via, then climbs up paths and tracks through old terraced farms above the Eyrieux Valley. On the way, there is a short tarmac detour to the Belvédère de l'Eyrieux to enjoy the superb view. After passing two well-restored hamlets, a pleasant descent takes you to a beautiful little waterfall before returning to Moulinon.

This hike will take you to the heights of La Voulte-sur-Rhône, an Ardèche village located at the intersection of three valleys: Rhône, Eyrieux and Ouvèze, with its hilltop church and castle. This route is not difficult, with an uphill section at the beginning and a downhill section at the end of the walk. The ridges offer beautiful views, particularly of the Trois Becs, the Vercors and the Rhône.The return journey is mainly on small, quiet tarmac roads, which makes the descent easy but may discourage some hikers.

This walk will allow you to discover the many natural treasures of the Barrès massif. At the Duranne farm, take advantage of this peaceful spot to have a short break.

This hike will take you on a journey of discovery through holm oaks, downy oaks, Scots pines and maples, as well as many species introduced into the Barrès Forest, such as black pines, Atlas cedars, Mediterranean firs and Douglas firs.

A beautiful, long hike combining history and nature. Passing through numerous ancient hamlets that were under the authority of the Lord of Pierregourde, you will reach the ruins of the old seigneurial castle, perched on top of a rocky peak over 600 metres high. A short detour to the wild summit of Serre de Girbaud offers a superb 360° panorama of the Rhône and Eyrieux valleys.

La Voulte-sur-Rhône, a town of around 5,000 inhabitants located in Ardèche on the banks of the Rhône, gateway to the Eyrieux valley, has listed historical remains, including the castle, the Chapelle des Princes, the Fontaine Giroud, and the foundry site with four blast furnaces.Architectural assets include the first prestressed concrete railway viaduct built in France. The suspension bridge spanning the Rhône connects to Livron.Here you are at the crossroads of two greenways, the Via Rhôna and the Dolce Via.

From Saint-Laurent-du-Pape, this pleasant hike to the ruins of Pierre Gourde Castle offers a beautiful overview of the Ardèche: the route is almost exclusively along ridges, with magnificent views of the Eyrieux Valley, the Ardèche Mountains, the Rhône Valley and the Vercors. Please note: some steep and rugged climbs before reaching the château and, above all, the ascent of the Serre de Girbaud may discourage some hikers. It is not advisable to do the hike in reverse!

A lovely hike along the ridges overlooking the Orsanne River. Numerous panoramic views, notably of Pic Lafont and the ruined feudal castle of Montagut (Mont Aigu), offering views of four valleys: Eyrieux, Glueyre, Orsanne and Auzène.

Before reaching the peaks, walk through the terraces, also known as faïsse or chalet, planted with chestnut trees and typical hamlets. The peaks offer an almost 360° view: the Alps, the Vercors and the Mézenc mountain range.
