Flaviac walks

A magnificent walk through deciduous woodland offering beautiful panoramic views of the Monts d'Ardèche, the Ouvèze and Rhône valleys, and the Vercors.

A short climb takes you to Les Grads and on to the ridges, followed by a gentle descent with views of the Saint-Julien chapel.

Apart from the distance, this is an easy hike on good trails through typical Ardèche landscapes. At the summit, there are beautiful views of the Rhône and Ouvèze valleys and, at the end of the walk, you can discover the famous Jaubernie caves, which served as troglodyte dwellings for Protestants driven out of Privas during the Wars of Religion.

This delightful walk will allow you to discover charming little hamlets surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation.

This route will take you through the pretty hamlets of Saint-Symphorien and offer beautiful views of the Payre Valley.

This route offers you the chance to take a short tour of the village of Rompon and enjoy some lovely panoramic views.

If you’re not keen on small tarmac roads, this walk won’t be for you. However, these relatively quiet stretches of road in no way detract from the beautiful views from the ridges.

On this route, you will overlook the Ouvèze valley and walk along the Grads plateau, a unique natural area.

A superb walk from Coux to Le Pouzin, passing through the terraces overlooking the Ouvèze valley on the right bank – the Plateau des Gras. A short stretch of tarmac towards the middle of the walk, but nothing too troublesome. (!) You’ll need two cars: leave one in Le Pouzin for the return journey and drive to the Coux cemetery in the second car – it’s about a 15-minute drive.

This route offers you the chance to visit a historic site, Château Bijou, the former Champ de Liourre silk mill, and to explore the Coiron Plateau.

A lovely family walk (for ages 4 and up) through the old town of Chomérac.

Please note: moderator's note on 20 April 2024. - From (4), access to the ridge (5) is blocked. - On the return journey from (2), take the same route in reverse to reach (1). The alternative route is blocked. Note dated 05/05/24 The route has been modified. Depart from the cemetery car park to continue the route. In the heart of the Ardèche countryside, a route taking in the Serre de Gruas, the small village of Chambon-de-Bavas and the ruins of the Saint-Quintin farm. Panoramic views of the Drôme valley, the Trois Becs and the Vercors, and on the other side, the Monts d'Ardèche park. The hike can be shortened to 14/15 kilometres.
