Park in the car park of the school and the multi-purpose hall in Saint-Symphorien-sous-Choméac
(S/E) From the town hall in Saint-Symphorien, head towards the school, cross the road leading down to Brune and continue opposite along Route du Temple until you reach the junction.
(1) Now follow the white and red markings of the GR 42. Just after Saint-Symphorien Church, take the small path that descends to the right and then climbs up to the hamlet of Les Boutiers.
(1) Cross a path and continue north on a narrow path directly opposite. This path climbs between box trees and broom and further on leads to a wide path. Turn left and follow the main path, which leads to another path. Descend towards the hamlet of Les Mathieux to reach a tarmac road. Follow this road for 200 metres to reach a fork.
(3) Keep right, continuing straight ahead along this wide dirt track lined with oak trees, which further on leads to a tarmac road.
(4) Follow it straight ahead to another fork before the stream after Linte.
(5) Leave theGR®42and follow the white and yellow markings on the left along a wide dirt track. Leave this main track and take a path on the left that passes in front of a ruin. This path leads to a wide track.
(6) Turn left and pass in front of La Charonde farm. The path becomes tarmac and turns right towards Les Véoux (view of the Payre Valley).
(7) Descend to the left onto a small shaded path. A little further on, you will have a beautiful view of the hamlet of Les Véoux. This path leads to a track that descends to the hamlet of Le Charron. Cross it.
(8) A little further on, turn left towards the hamlet of Sérusclat le Bas. In this hamlet and at the bend, leave the tarmac road and turn right onto a pretty dirt track. Continue to the hamlet of Beneys.
(9) Turn left immediately. Pass a path on the right, then another on the left that leads to the hamlet of Les Archillets. The path lined with large broom bushes leads to a fork.
(10) Continue straight ahead on this tarmac road and 200 m further on, you will reach another fork. Turn left and continue straight ahead on the Route de Chomerac until you reach the first intersection towards Les Chazettes. Continue straight ahead on this road until you reach the starting point of the hike (S/E).
