Description of the walk

From the Fellhorn summit station, descend to the valley station using the two cable car sections with the Allgäu-Walser-Card.
The starting point for this hike is at the Fellhorn valley station (Fellhornbahn Talstation).

(S) Cross the car park and join the path heading north.

(1) Follow this small road, which is also the Red Via Alpina. Walk to a fork in the road.

(2) Leave the Via Alpina on your right and continue north. Cross a small hamlet with the Schwand hotel on your left and the Senner inn on your right. Continue through the forest until you reach a crossroads above the Freibergsee lake and opposite the ski jump

(3) Continue on the left overlooking the lake until you reach a fork.

(4) Turn left, still in the forest, pass under a chairlift and then in front of the Friends of Nature house. You will reach another fork at the Gashof Bergkristall.

(5) Turn left and continue downhill to the Söllereck valley station (E).

Return to Oberstdorf by bus no. 1.

Hinterstein - Shreksee - Kirchdachsattel - Hinterstein Route starts from Hinterstein parking. We hiked, but it is possible to take the bus to Kraftwerk Auele, where the trailhead begins. It is a difficult trail with steep inclines with loose rocks and water runoff. It is possible to swim in the lake, and the view from the saddle is really nice.
