At L'Hospitalet, go through the roundabout, then turn left to cross the railway line (signposted "Départ des Randonnées"). Turn right to cross the village, pass over an EDF penstock, cross the railway line and you will find the Suzanne car park on the right, below the N20.
(S/E) Do not follow the route marked on the IGN map, which is incorrect at this point and leads you back up to the N20, which is extremely dangerous, and across it.
Turn right at the end of the car park to pass under the N20, turn immediately left then right and climb steeply up the GRT68. You will reach a beautiful stone bridge. The path heads west and arrives at a flat area. Cross the bridge over the Siscar torrent, which glistens on your right, and you will reach a fork a few metres further on.
(1) Take the right-hand branch and continue along the path, which climbs gently at first and then becomes steeper. You will reach Jasse Planet du Roux, where the path levels out again.
(2) Continue along the path that passes by a small lake with a dam, taking time to admire the view to the north. Cross the small stream twice and the path rises again to reach the grassy basin that shelters the Etang de Pédourrés at a fork.
(3) Leave the path that climbs straight up to the Couillade de Pédourrès, turn left and continue to this high-altitude lake, which is set in a beautiful wild spot. You can stop for a moment on the small dam and admire the waterfall on your right. This is the ideal place for a break.
The marked trail then heads southwest into a small valley at the bottom of which you can clearly see the Porteilla du Sisca, which you will need to cross. The trail passes by a small lake, alternates between ascents and flat sections, and ends at the Porteilla.
(4) Stop for a moment to enjoy the view of the Pics de Siscaro and La Cabaneta, which dominate the Etang du Siscar and form an impressive mineral cirque.
Begin the descent and follow the well-marked trail. You will soon see the Etang du Siscar, easily recognisable by its small island. The slope becomes gentler and the trail leads to the outlet of the lake where a small hut stands alone, its feet in the water.
(5) Continue along the path heading south-east, passing the Vésine hut and following the Siscar stream. The path, which is almost level and easy to walk on, quickly leads to a small lake on the right in a pretty, unspoilt spot.
(6) Continue to follow the path that enters a small rocky gorge, crosses the stream twice, then follows it to emerge a few metres from the bridge you crossed on the way up.
(1) Turn right and retrace your steps to return to the car (S/E).
