Between the valley and the plateau in Flamets-Frétils

Start from the car park shared by the church and the village hall in Flamets-Frétils.

(S/E) With your back to the village hall, leave the car park and turn right onto Rue de l’Église. Continue along this street until you reach the junction with Rue du Puits (D102). At the junction, turn left onto Rue du Puits. Follow this street.

(1) Take the first path on your right and continue until you reach a Fork in the road. At the Fork in the road, take the left-hand path. Continue along this uphill path as it leads into the woods.

(2) As you emerge from the woods, you’ll reach the plateau. Carry on straight ahead, staying on the same track. Follow this track as it bends to the right and runs alongside the A29 motorway.

(3) After passing under a power line, take the first path on your right. Continue straight on along this path, which turns into a small tarmac road at the hamlet of Ormesnil (Ronchois). Walk straight through the hamlet along this small road. As you leave the hamlet, carry on straight towards the woods.

(4) At the entrance to the woods, take the path on your left until you reach a Fork in the road. Then take the left-hand path and walk through the woods until you reach a crossroads. Turn onto the path on the right and continue along this path until you reach the junction with the D36. Cross the road and take Rue La Chaussée du Roy opposite, which leads to the hamlet of La Couture le Roy (Flamets-Frétils). Carry on straight ahead along this street, which turns into a dirt track. Continue to the end of this track.

(5) Turn right and follow the path alongside the Bois Bertin and the Bois des Moines before joining the D102 at the end.

(6) Once on the road, turn left and head towards the hamlet of Port-Mort (Flamets-Frétils). At the entrance to the hamlet, pass the Notre-Dame Chapel on your left and continue along the Route de la Chapelle (D102), which climbs slightly until it meets the Route de l’Hermitage.

(7) At the junction, turn right onto the Route de l’Hermitage. Follow this road straight down to a Fork in the road, ignoring the Chemin du Bois Villers on your left. At the Fork in the road, continue straight on until you reach the junction with the D102.

(8) At the junction, turn left onto the D102 to reach the village of Flamets-Frétils. Follow this road down to the junction with the D36. Then turn left onto the D36 (Rue de la Forge). Follow this street until you reach the junction with Rue de l’Église. Take Rue de l’Église on your right and you will immediately come back to the car park where you started (S/E).

Flamets-Frétils is situated halfway between Neufchâtel-en-Bray and Aumale.
