Park in the car park, near the cemetery. The walk can be done either way. However, it’s best to start with a fairly steep descent. It’s therefore advisable to head towards the village of Saussy.
(S/E) Take Rue de la Mare, then Grand Rue and Rue Curtil, heading towards the church.
(1) A few metres past the junction with Chemin de la Tour, on Rue de Curtil, turn right down towards the washhouse and then go round the back of the tower.
(2) Directly opposite the tower, turn left behind the wash house and continue downhill to the Mousseneux Forest House. Cross the D996 and continue through the woodland.
(3) Turn right and continue to a clearing.
(4) Take the path leading uphill to the right and join the D996. Take care as you follow the road to the left towards Vernot.
(5) At the entrance to Vernot (cross), turn right onto the Route des Mousseneux.
(6) After “les 3 ifs”, turn right, without going past the fountain.
Take a break on the stone bench and enjoy the view in the shade; you’re about halfway along the route.
Set off again, following the path that climbs to the right, and continue along the Route Forestière des Grolles.
(7) After the gate, turn right into the woodland, following the path as it curves.
(8) Turn left onto the path to join a road.
(9) Follow this road to the right and head back to the car park (S/E).
