Between Manosque and Gréoux via the Grand Devançon and Château Rousset

Parking is available on the D82 at the top of the hill when coming from Gréoux-les-Bains, at the junction with the Grande Draye des Troupeaux d’Arles track at the Les Plaines signpost.

(S/E) Take the track towards La Colle.

(1) At the hamlet of La Colle, pass the farm building and the fire tank and continue along the track towards La Fare.

(2) At the La Fare marker, carry on straight ahead along the track towards La Fare Est and Jauffret. Ignore the turn-offs to the right.

(3) At the signpost for Jauffret, turn left towards Grand Devançon and continue straight on along this track for 5 km. Pass a large solar farm and continue along the track. At the Y-junction, turn left for 200 m to reach Grand Devançon.

(4) At the signpost for Grand Devançon, leave the marked trail, turn right, and walk past the well and the ruined building. Then turn right and continue straight on along this new track which descends towards the D6.

(5) Turn left and walk carefully along the road towards the roundabout.

(6) Turn slightly left and walk carefully along the road for 1.2 km towards Vinon. Cross the D82 and continue along the road.

(7) At the junction with a small road, turn left at the sign for Château Rousset, then right onto a track. Turn right again onto a small road and continue straight on.

(8) After passing between two buildings, turn left onto the small road and head uphill towards Château de Rousset.

(9) In front of the castle gates, turn right and, at the next junction, turn right again at the edge of the forest and continue straight ahead along this track. At the statue of the Virgin Mary in front of the Château Rousset signpost, continue straight ahead, passing to the left of the statue. Follow the yellow markings again.

(10) At the end of the vineyards, take the second track on the left. At the end of this track, turn right, carry on straight ahead, pass under a high-voltage power line and reach a junction.

(11) Take the track on the right.

(12) Just before the junction of two tracks, take the small path on the left and head up towards the forest. Pass under a high-voltage power line and carry on straight ahead along the path, which turns into a track further on. You’ll reach the signpost for La Colle de Rousset.

(13) Turn left towards the RD82. At the next junction, keep to the right and join the D82.

(14) Turn left for a few metres, then cross the road carefully to reach the car park (S/E).
