The walk starts at the car park near the Auberge du Bois Doré, at 19 Route de la Prairie in Poigny-la-Forêt (about 300 metres from the church). This car park is public (so you don't need to be a guest at the inn).
(S/E) Head towards the church. Cross Route de Saint-Léger and first turn left then right onto Route de l'Étang du Roi. Continue straight ahead and walk along a pond where you may see herons.
(1) Just before the second pond, turn right onto a path that climbs for about 100 metres. Then turn right. Head east-northeast and leave a path on your right. At the crossroads (elevation 154), continue straight ahead along Chemin des Marcassins (no entry).
(2) At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead and pass in front of a riding centre. Turn into the first path on the left. Head north-northeast and, at the two crossroads you come to (elevations 159 and 174), continue straight ahead on a slight incline. Cross a chestnut grove.
(3) Before reaching a meadow and a ruin, turn left. Then take the first road on the right. At the junction that you will soon come to, turn right again onto Route des Rocreaux.
(4) At Carrefour des Rocreaux, take thesecond path on the left (at 90°), Route du Petit Paris, and follow it for about 500 metres.
(5) At the crossroads, turn left and continue along this road. At the fork 100 metres further on, take the left-hand road. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead.
(6) At a crossroads with six roads (elevation 159), go straight ahead. Do the same at the next junction. You will reach a junction that you took on the way there.
(2) Continue straight ahead on Rue de la Butte du Moulin. At the crossroads (Route des Sablons on the right), continue straight ahead on the same street. You will come out onto Route de Saint-Léger; follow it to the right. Pass in front of the cemetery. Turn left at thefirst street to return to the starting point (S/E).
