Park in the large car park on the Esplanade des Arènes in Vieux-Boucau-les-Bains, near Avenue de la Liberté.
(S/E) Head south towards the centre of Vieux-Boucau. Follow the pedestrian and shopping area along the Courant de Messanges and arrive at the foot of Lac d'Albret. Keep to the left, follow the Promenade du Lac and arrive at a bridge.
(1) Turn right, cross the small bridge, follow the tarmac path and then the wooden stilts that lead to the Port d'Albret water sports centre and a car park. Continue around the lake, passing two locks in succession, then cross the bridge over the mouth of the lake.
(2) Keep to the left and follow the wooden stilts, then, after a short detour to the left, follow the tarmac path that leads to the beach. Follow the rock breakwater that runs along the mouth of the lake as closely as possible and get as close to the ocean as you can (depending on the tide).
(3) Turn right towards the north and walk along the beach. Pass the semaphore visible on the right and look for the steps leading up from the beach above the Messanges dunes.
(4) Take these steps and you will come to a tarmac road. Go down this road, pass a roundabout with car parks on either side and after about 200 m, you will come to a crossroads.
(5) Turn right towards the south and continue straight ahead on the road, which is closed to vehicles, leading to the foot of the Messanges semaphore. Please note: photography is prohibited. The road then turns into a sandy path. You will arrive at an X-shaped crossroads.
(6) Head slightly to the left and then straight ahead. After about 50 metres, turn right to reach the edge of the Étang de Moïsan. Admire the tranquillity of the site, with its fish, ducks, etc. Continue south and ignore the paths on the left and right. You will come to a T-junction with a fence marking the boundary of a campsite opposite.
(7) Turn left onto the road, then right onto the first path that leads into the forest, heading south. Follow the fence of the campsite and the marina to reach Route de la Plage Sud.
(8) Turn right and you will arrive near the entrance to the campsite, the Old Port.
(9) Turn left onto Chemin du Junca, stay on the left, Boulevard du Marensin, and arrive at Promenade des Arènes.
(10) Cross the dual carriageway, walk alongside a large park with picnic tables, then turn right towards the arena and the car park (S/E).
