Park in the car park of the church in Dambach-Neunhoffen, Rue de l'Église.
Yellow Cross markings
(S/E) From the car park, head towards the church, then turn right onto Rue Principale (D853), following the Yellow Cross markings. Take thesecond left, Rue du Lion. Continue straight ahead and follow the path.
(1) At the T-junction, turn left. Walk westwards, staying on the marked path and ignoring any turnoffs on either side. You will reach Hohenfels Castle.
(2) Continue west towards Col du Molloch, ignoring all turnings on the left. Cross a forest track. You will immediately come to another track; follow it to the left (south-west) to the pass.
Blue Cross markings
(3) Take thefirst path on the left, towards Grand Wintersberg. Go around the summit of Angelsberg to the west and then to the south and reach the Col de l'Angelsberg.
(4) Take thesecond path on the right (south-east). Climb up and cross a perpendicular path.
(5) At the next junction, turn left (the signposts have disappeared here due to forestry work, but you will find them again a little further on).
(6) At the crossroads, turn right (south-east). Cross a perpendicular path and, at the next intersection, turn left. Join a tarmac forest road (moderate traffic) and follow it to the left for about 50 metres.
Red Disc markings
(7) Near the Col du Riesthal, first turn left then right to follow a path that runs parallel to the forest road. Climb gently to the Col de la Liese (Club Vosgien chalet).
Red Rectangle markings
(8) Take the path opposite, which starts between a flat forest track on the left and a sloping tarmac road on the right. Climb the north side of the Grand Wintersberg with numerous hairpin bends. Reach the summit tower.
(9) Descend via the same path to Col de la Liese.
(8) Follow a path towards Dambach (north-east), leaving the Club Vosgien chalet on your left and the tarmac road from the pass on your right. Stay parallel to the road until you reach the Pottaschkopf shelter.
Red Ring markings
(10) Turn left towards Dambach. After about 75 metres, turn right. Descend along the marked path, which makes a sharp left turn.
Red Triangle Markings
(11) At the intersection, turn sharply right. Descend via the altitude of 354 m, ignoring all the side paths. Join a forest track and follow it to the right.
(12) Turn left. Cross Rue Principale (picnic area) and follow it to the left. At the corner of the church, turn right to return to the starting car park (S/E).
