Car park at the Gaschney resort.
(S/E) Head towards the welcome signs under the ski slopes, go around them on the right to take a path with multiple signposts that passes between buildings to enter the forest.
(1) At the first crossroads, take the almost flat path on your left. This is a pleasant path that runs almost entirely through the forest, occasionally crossing a ski slope.
(2) At the junction with a wide forest path, take this path uphill. After a hairpin bend and a few hundred metres through the forest, you will reach the ski slopes. Continue along this path until you reach the Auberge du Schallern, which you go around at the top (Sentier du Facteur).
Go through a valley where the snow stays late in the season. Continue across the grazed slopes on the almost flat path until you reach the Ferme-Auberge du Schiessroth.
(3) At the junction with the road, take the path that descends and goes around the farm on your right. Continue along this zigzag path until you come to a stony forest track.
(4) Go down the forest track on your right towards Lac du Schiessrothried, cross the dam and sit on the rocks at the water's edge if you wish, then retrace your steps. Stay on the forest track and go past the path you took downhill. Continue along this moderately sloping forest track until you come to another farm track.
(5) Continue straight ahead on the almost flat forest track until you reach a pretty thatched hut that is being reclaimed by the forest.
(6) Take the path uphill on the left, through the most obvious patch of stubble, marked for hiking and trail running. After crossing the stubble, the path continues to climb gradually through the forest until it crosses a forest track.
(7) Take the forest path downhill to your right.
(8) Below the ski facilities, you will arrive at another logging road, which you also take downhill to return to the starting point. (S/E)
