The Ors to Le Cateau-Cambrésis bocage cycle route

Departure from the car park at the Ors Forest House.

(S/E) Leave the car park and take the first path on the right, cross the Notre-Dame de Bonsecours stream and discover the chapel of the Hermitage of Notre-Dame de Bonsecours. With your back to it, take the path on the left, continue straight ahead for a short distance, then follow the PR® path on the right and leave the forest.
(1) Turn right onto Rue d'Ouies, continue straight ahead, cross the railway line and continue to the small bridge over the Ruisseau de l'Ermitage.

(2) Immediately afterwards, turn left onto the path, walk along the Ruisseau de l'Ermitage and then follow the path that turns right to the military cemetery. Continue along the path to the Sambre canal.

(3) Take the GR®122 - GR®655, Chemin de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, on the right. Continue straight ahead.

(4) In Ors, cross Rue de Landrecies and continue straight ahead on the towpath along the Sambre. Pass the old Ors castle mound on your right and reach Catillon-sur-Sambre.

(5) Cross Avenue de la Groise and rejoin the towpath, this time on the left bank of the Sambre. Continue straight ahead until you reach the lock keeper's house at Rejet-de-Beaulieu.

(6) Cross to the other side and continue straight ahead. Ignore the path on your left, pass the water treatment plant on your right and continue to the T-junction.

(7) Turn left onto Rue Gourgouche, then right onto Rue Verte at the crossroads, and continue straight ahead until you reach a place called La Malassise.

(8) At the intersection with the C9, ignore the direction of La Louvière and continue straight ahead on Chemin des Rouliers until you reach the four-way crossroads.

(9) Continue straight ahead onto Chemin de la Haie Tonnoile, ignore a road on the right and continue to the four-way intersection just after a high-voltage power line.

(10) Continue straight ahead on Chemin de Fesmy, pass Ferme de la Roue and continue straight ahead until you reach a railway line.

(11) Cross the railway line and continue straight ahead. Follow the main road, pass a water tower on your right, ignore all adjacent paths, pass the Le Cateau-Cambrésis cemetery on your right and join Rue du Marché aux Chevaux.

(12) Turn right onto this street and continue to the next intersection.

(13) Turn left onto Rue Cuvier, then left again onto Rue des Savetiers.

Continue along Place Carnot, then straight ahead along Rue Jean Jaurès, ignoring the five roads on the right. Return to Rue du Marché aux Chevaux and turn left for 20 metres.

(12) Continue straight ahead on Rue du Marché aux Chevaux, then rejoin the intersection you passed earlier.

(13) Turn right onto Rue de Landrecies and continue straight ahead until you reach the^third street on the left, Rue du Corbeau, at Faubourg de Landrecies. Be careful, there is a steep hill. Continue straight ahead, passing Bosquet de la Croix, then Ruisseau and Ferme du Bois de Villers. Continue straight ahead, pass Le Corbeau, ignore a path on the right, pass Haute Cornée and arrive at the four-way crossroads and the stele.

(14) Cross the D 86 and continue straight ahead to the Étang du Flaquet.

(15) Turn right just before the pond and veer left onto the PR® Route forestière du Flaquet Brifaux. Continue to the Carrefour des Trois Tours.

(16) Turn right and at the D959, turn right then immediately left to reach the Maison Forestière (S/E).
