Through the country lanes of Ors, Fontaine-au-Bois, Landrecies,

Starting point and car park: Notre-Dame de Bonsecours Chapel

(S/E) Cross the D959 with caution and continue straight ahead. At the ruined towers, turn left onto the Route Forestière du Flaquet Brifaux, which is closed to cars, and continue to the edge of the forest at the Étang du Flaquet Briffaut. This is a lovely place to stop.

(1) At the corner of the pond, turn right towards La Forestière.

(2) Continue straight ahead to reach a crossroads just before the Ferme du Nez Coupé.

(3) Continue on the left-hand road towards Le Chêne.

(4) Pass the cemetery, continue along Rue du Hainaut and go straight ahead at the four-way crossroads. Join the crossroads at Rue de Landrecies.

(5) Turn left, then right after Place Charles de Gaulle.

(6) Pass the second British cemetery and continue straight ahead until the next intersection.

(7) Turn left onto Rue de Landrecies and enter Robersart. Further on, leave the church on your left and turn right onto Rue de Preux (D243) to reach the four-way intersection with the D934.

(8) Continue straight ahead on Rue Robersart and you will arrive at the church in Preux-au-Bois.

(9) Turn right, pass in front of the church and follow the main road, Rue du Bois, to reach a major crossroads after the houses of Saint-Roch.

(10) Continue straight ahead on Route de Preux through the forest until you reach an X-shaped crossroads.

(11) Turn^right (south) onto Route Duhamel. Stay on this straight road through the forest. Cross the Ruisseau à Grenouilles stream and join the GR®122 further on at the edge of the forest.

(12) Take this path opposite, following the red and white markings. This path is also known as Chemin Dame Marguerite. You will come to a fork in the road before the railway line.

(13) Leave the GR®122. Turn right towards Les Étoquies. Cross this neighbourhood to reach the bridge on Avenue de la Gare.

(14) Go under the bridge and continue along Rue du Syndicat, then take the^first right. At Rue d'Happegarbes, turn right and at the roundabout, take the^first right onto Avenue de la Marne - Caserne Clarke -

(15) After the Canal de la Sambre, turn right onto Boulevard Vauban. At the roundabout, take the^first right onto Rue du Calvaire, then Chemin de Ronde.

(16) Turn right onto Rue de la Folie (D160), continue straight ahead for a long time and pass the Ferme du Petit-Versailles. Continue straight ahead on Rue de Landrecies and you will arrive at the Chapelle Saint-Roch.

(17) Turn right onto Rue de Landrecies towards the centre of Ors. Cross the Sambre river and continue to Ors church.

(18) Take the right-hand path Rue d'Ouies (D160B). At the end of this road, turn right and continue straight ahead on Rue d'Ouies. Pass the level crossing and follow the path on the left in the bend that leads into the forest. You will arrive at the junction with the D959 in Grand Bois l'Évêque.

(19) Turn left onto the D959 and return to your starting point - Chapelle Notre-Dame de Bonsecours - Maison forestière Owen (S/E).
