Description of the walk

The starting point is at the Palais des Congrès (car park nearby).

(S/E) Follow the footpath (uphill) that runs alongside the convention centre and crosses an avenue. Then continue along the greenway. After passing Avenue François Mitterrand on your right, turn left, then right and finally left again before arriving at the accommodation centre.

(1) Turn right towards the tunnel (caution: poor visibility), continue around the golf course fence on the right to reach the Petit Pioch roundabout.

(2) Go around the roundabout on the left and continue along Boulevard François Mitterrand until you reach the Charles Miquel roundabout, the second roundabout.

(3) Turn left onto Boulevard Jean Monnet, passing Collège Paul Émile Victor and Lycée Auguste Loubatière, until you reach the second roundabout (Rond-point de la Méditerranée).

(4) Continue on the left to take the long Route de Rochelongue to its end and arrive at Rochelongue Beach, continuing straight ahead at each roundabout.

(5) Drive along the left-hand side of Rochelongue Beach, then Richelieu Beach until you reach the Caravelle car park

(6) Pass the car park and follow Allée de Basse Terre on the left. Go around the Aqualand water park. Pass under a bridge near Île des Loisirs.

(7) Then turn left and return to Avenue de Belle Isle (make sure you stay on the right-hand side of the road) and continue straight ahead until you return to the Palais des Congrès (S/E).

A pleasant route, especially through the wooded area. Quite a few towns, but it’s not too bad for this part of the country.
