Start from the car park, Place Pierre Mendès France, Le Réal housing estate, at the end of Rue Gilbert Brutus.
(S/E) Leave the housing estate and follow Rue Gilbert Brutus. At the next junction, turn left.
(1) Turn left again at the end of Rue Louis Noguère, passing in front of the Emergency Centre. Carry on straight ahead onto the D619 until you reach the Clue de la Fou and the Roman bridge spanning the Agly, with the ancient thermal baths on your right and the hot springs (28°C) on your left. This is also the start of the Via Ferrata. Continue for a few metres to the next junction.
(2) Cross the bridge over the Agly to the fork in the road.
(3) Carry on straight ahead along the D619 to Ansignan. At the entrance to the village, there is a view of the Roman aqueduct and the Agly valley.
(4) Drive through the village and continue on the D619, towards Sournia, until you reach the junction with the D9.
(5) Take the hairpin bend to the right onto the D9, towards Le Vivier, and continue to the junction with the D7.
(6) Carry on straight ahead on the D7 and drive through the village of Le Vivier.
(7) At the junction, carry on straight ahead on the D9, towards Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes.
(8) Take in the view of the Tour Sabarda and Château Saint-Pierre. Carry on along the D9 until you reach the level crossing at the entrance to Caudiès-de-Fenouillèdes.
(9) After the level crossing, turn right onto Rue des Écoles and, at the end of the street, turn right again, heading towards Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet via the D117.
(10) At the roundabout, take the cycle path alongside the D117. After crossing the Agly, at the traffic lights, turn immediately right onto the D19, then left onto Avenue de la République, to rejoin the original junction.
