Red and white GR®59 trail markers and specific signs bearing the symbol "J"
(S) From the "La Maison du Haut" lodge/campsite, head north-west on the Chemin des Bordes, then turn left at the edge of the woods. Cross the woods to rejoin the Chemin des Bordes.
(1) Turn left (south-west) to cross the forest. In the right-hand bend, ignore the PR® and continue north-west. Continue until you reach the D43 after leaving the woods.
(2)Cross it carefully and follow the signs for Passenans to reach a wide stony path. Go down the Route du Vieux Mont to join the D43 at the entrance to Passenans, near a fountain.
(3) Exit the bend on the D43 on the left to descend Rue de la Rampe, then turn left onto the D56 to arrive at the signpost in front of a bakery. (Refreshments available at the bakery and in a mini-market by turning right onto the main street).
(4) Continue straight ahead on the D57 towards Château de Frontenay. At the signpost at the fork, turn right onto Rue du Savagnin and continue to the cross.
(5) Continue straight ahead on the D57. Opposite the Marotte joinery, turn left onto the road that leads into a vineyard, then start climbing until you reach the intersection with Route de l'Ecouvette. Follow the signs for Château de Fronteney along Chemin de l'Église to reach the entrance to the building. (The gardens and terraces are open to the public and offer beautiful views of the valley).
(6) Retrace your steps along Rue de l'Église, then take the first path on the right that joins Chemin du Château.
(7) Opposite, take the forest path that climbs into the woods towards the north-east. After the cross (oratory), turn right at the fork (south-east) to continue into the Fougnet woods. When you leave the woods, keep south-east through the pastures until you reach the signpost for "La Croix des Grand Bois".
(8) Turn left, then at the signpost "Les Marnières", follow the road to the right towards Ménétru-le-Vignoble. Continue south-west until you reach the cross and the fountain.
(9) Continue along this road, which leads to the entrance to the village of Ménétru-le-Vignoble via the Route des Granges Bernard. Continue to the crossroads at Domaine de La Grange 476 (winegrower).
(10) Turn left and follow the signs for Château-Chalon. At the end of the street, continue north-east into the woods. Pass under a high-voltage power line, then climb up to the edge of the woods, ignoring the crossroads.
(11) Turn right onto the Côte de Beaumont path heading south-west. Pass the Croix de Beaumont before turning south-east and entering the Tuquière woods. Continue until you reach the signpost for "Les Latets".
(12) Turn right, then at the fork, continue south through the cultivated fields. Continue to the intersection with the Chemin des Granges Bernard.
(13) Turn right onto the Voie Romaine, which heads south-west and joins the D5.
(14) Cross it very carefully and continue straight ahead on the gravel road that rejoins the D5 at the entrance to Château-Chalon. Cross the D5 again very carefully and go up the small Rue Marius Gagneur in the wrong direction. Pass in front of the La Tour Charlemagne lodge before arriving at a roundabout with vegetation.
(15) Cross Rue Saint-Jean with care and continue straight ahead on Rue de la Roche towards Belvédère Notre-Dame. Continue along this street in the "village belvédère" (village viewpoint) and enjoy the spectacular views. As you pass the Sainte-Anne viewpoint, take the time to explore the village and its typical streets, its winegrowers, the Belvédère de la Rochette viewpoint, the old school and the famous Maison de la Haute Seille. You will arrive in front of the Saint-Pierre church.
(16) Continue along Rue de l'Église, then turn right opposite the fountain. Pass the war memorial and Belvédère de Saint-Jean and continue until you see the sign for the exit of the village of Château-Chalon.
(17) 150 metres before this sign, turn right and quickly turn left (west) to descend along the edge of the woods until you reach the crossroads.
(18) Turn left towards the northeast to join a paved road leading to the Croix de Pierre on the D5.
(19) Walk carefully along this departmental road heading northeast. Continue to the first intersection on the right.
(20) Turn right towards the east and continue until you reach the signpost for "La vie de Blois".
(21) Turn right (south-east) to reach the Bois de Véru. Cross it, and after a steep descent, you will come out onto the D204.
(22) Cross it and continue straight ahead on Route de Neuvy until you reach the entrance to the village of Blois-sur-Seille, where you will find a picnic area with drinking water on your right (E).
