Parking near the church in Plasne, located on Rue du Paradis.
(S/E) With your back to the church, walk up Rue du Paradis, ignoring the first path on the right and keeping to the right at the fork that follows. At the Poligny road (D68), cross carefully and walk up it, ignoring a street on the right, then another on the left. Take the time to admire the first panoramic view of the "Paradis" and the entire plain behind it. When you come to a ramp alongside a house, which then passes between two houses, take it and you will arrive at Plasne Town Hall.
(1) Turn left, along the town hall, and go up Rue du Château d'Eau, which starts next to a beautiful local house. You are now on theGR®59. The tarmac will quickly give way to a country lane. Continue straight ahead, but not before taking in the new panorama stretching as far as the Alps on your right. Continue to the first dirt track on your right.
(2) A short detour to the reservoir will reveal a new panorama.
(3) Return to theGR®59.
(2) Continue along it, to the right, until you reach another junction.
(4) Before leaving theGR®, if you are an early riser and very quiet, continue along it to the left, downhill, until you reach the quarry. You may see the chamois that have made their home there.
(5) Retrace your steps back to the crossroads.
(4) Turn left (right if you have not gone further than the crossroads) and go down the path straight ahead. New panoramic views. Continue straight ahead, cross a road and
you will come to a bend in the road.
(6) Turn right and join a small tarmac road at the edge of a wood. Follow it on your right, continuing along the path you have just come along, until you reach the D68.
(7) Cross it carefully and take the Chemin des Allus diagonally to the right. Leave the Rue du Soleil Levant on your right and join the Rue du Creux Guillaume.
(8) Walk up this street to the right and you will come to a small playground opposite you, on the left at the junction with Chemin des Baumes coming from the left. You will join theGR®59.
(9) Follow theGR® opposite, down Rue de la Creuse, until you reach the junction with Rue de la Croix Probis.
(10) Follow theGR® along the small dirt track in front of you, then almost immediately turn right down the steep path. When you reach the bottom, turn left and walk back to the old reconstructed wash house.
Retrace your steps and take Chemin du Puits, opposite the wash house, until you reach the church (S/E).
