Start from the Téléo station. You can also park in the Oncopôle car park at (1).
(S/E) Take the exit to the left of the station or from the car park.
(1) Follow the Via Garona on the right.
(2) Turn left to cross the road and take the gravel path which joins and runs alongside the Saudrune stream, initially in the shade of the trees and then out in the open. After a while, cross the stream and continue for 200 m along a grassy path.
(3) Turn left and follow the track for 550 m to the crossroads.
(4) Carry on to the left for 250 m along the track suitable for vehicles, skirting the market gardens; turn right, cross the stream, then turn immediately left to follow the stream.
(5) Continue to the left along the stream; a chicane blocks the way for two-wheeled vehicles.
Warning: do not take this path if the Garonne is in flood; instead, take the parallel path by turning right.
(6) If the path is not muddy, follow the Garonne as closely as possible, keeping left at every fork. You’ll pass several pumping stations, sometimes riding over the concrete blocks that make up the protective embankment, and sometimes underneath it.
(7) Carry on straight ahead until you reach the Portet ferry.
(8) The ferry operates from 1 April to 30 October on Wednesday afternoons and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10.00 to 17.00. Turn back.
(7) Turn left to avoid retracing your steps along the path you’ve already taken, but after 200 m, turn right to avoid walking through a cultivated field.
(9) Head left to join a track suitable for vehicles, follow this track to the right for 50 m, then turn right onto the path that leads through the forest.
(10) Turn right to rejoin the outbound route and head left.
(6) Turn left to avoid retracing the path from the outward leg and reach the stream from the outward leg.
(5) Turn left and, following the route in the opposite direction to the outward journey, head towards the Oncopôle (S/E).
