Park in the car park 400 m after Moulin du Bois along the D 20 coming from Monbéliardot.
(S/E) From the car park, head to the crossroads. Signpost: Saut du Pissoux 0.9 km. Take the small path that descends to the signpost on the right. Arrive at Saut du Pissoux.
(1) Take care: from here, the descent into the Reculée du Pissoux may be slippery in places. Follow the stream to the right. Cross a road at elevation 643. Follow a path slightly to the left and descend, following yellow/blue markings on a tree.
(2) Leave the path and turn right onto a wider track for 300 m. At the signpost, take the path on the left, cross a small wooden bridge further on, follow the Pissoux and reach a junction.
(3) At the signpost, follow the signs for Moulin Girardot. Turn right, then left 100 m further on. You will reach a junction.
(4) Continue to the right, walk a few metres and take the path on the left which descends to the D39 road. Yellow/blue markings on a tree. Follow the road to the right and walk alongside the Dessoubre to the bridge at the entrance to the village of Gigot, passing by the Moulin de Girardot.
(5) At the signpost, follow the direction of Le Val. Take the path on the right, without crossing the Dessoubre, and arrive at the Moulin de Belvoir. “Option to make a return trip by walking down to the foot of the dam for a better view.” Continue following the Dessoubre to Le Val, which is a street in the village of Bretonvillers. Do not cross the bridge.
(6) After the first house, turn right through a gap in the fence. At the signpost, follow the direction of Plaimbois-du-Miroir. Climb for about 400 m. In the pasture, keep to the right and follow the fence uphill.
(7) Cross via an ascending path, using a gap in the fence. At the next junction, take the path opposite until you reach another junction. At the signpost, follow the direction of Plaimbois-du-Miroir.
(8) When you reach a track, turn right; there is a signpost on a rock opposite. Walk 5 to 10 m and turn left onto the path, marked on a rock. Climb up, and when you reach a track, take the left-hand track, then the next track on the right. Do not continue along the main path: take the path that goes downhill and, at the first bend, take the path on the right (partly overgrown) to join a lovely path about 200 m further on.
(9) Once on the path, turn right then left at the junction, staying on this lovely path.
This section of the path is not obvious: do not go downhill; keep to the right whilst climbing. At the foot of the path, there is a signpost.
(10) Climb up, turn right towards the Roche du Miroir viewpoint, where you can admire the Dessoubre valley and Laval-le-Prieuré. Retrace your steps and turn right (picnic table).
(11) Head towards the village of Plaimbois-du-Miroir and cross it along the main road via Rue du Miroir, passing the town hall and the church. On leaving the village, turn left.
(12) In the pasture, head up to the right to follow the ridge along the path through the woods until you reach a junction.
(13) With the pasture on your left, take the path on the right that goes downhill, walk a few metres and take the path on the right that descends steeply in a hairpin bend. Go to the exit of the pasture, cross the road and take the path opposite. You will reach another road (D128).
(14) Cross this and turn right. Walk 20 m and take a path that descends to the left, leading to a small gully. Take the path into the pasture. Walk to the far end of the pasture to cross a gap, reach another path, then turn left. Reach a crossroads.
(15) At the signpost, follow the direction of the arboretum. Take the path on the right before the next road junction. You will arrive at the arboretum (sculptures, tables and viewpoint).
(16) At the signpost, follow the direction of Montbéliardot. At the next junction, continue straight ahead along the path. At the signpost, follow the direction of Montbéliardot. At the next junction, go straight ahead. At the signpost, follow the direction of Moulin du Bois. Further on, enter a small pasture, keeping to the right. The path continues.
(17) At the entrance to the pasture, head straight ahead keeping to the right; there is a hedge and a signpost. Continue to the start of a path and take it. At the signpost, follow the direction of Moulin du Bois. Continue to the right. Join the road, take the path straight ahead over the dam, then turn right onto the track, and head to the car park (S/E).
