Park in the small car park at Plaimbois Town Hall.
(S/E) Walk down the main street and take the trail to the Miroir rock viewpoint.
(1) Take the small path, which is quite steep at first, before joining a main road. Follow it to the left, continuing downhill. You will arrive at a small plateau, from where several paths lead off in different directions.
(2) Turn left, following the yellow and blue markings and the signs for the circular route 43. The path is a little narrower, but continues to descend.
Join the road at Les Cerneux.
(3) Follow it for a few metres before continuing to follow the markings, which will take you across the road and down a small path that runs alongside a small stream. You will arrive at the memorial stone (which is on the other side of the stream, opposite you at the crossroads).
(4) Turn left to climb back up towards Laval le Prieuré. Once you have reached the road, take the smaller road opposite, still following the markings, and you will reach Laval le Prieuré and its church. It is worth taking a detour to visit the church before taking the small street that climbs straight up the slope.
(5) Just after the house, turn right onto the path that climbs into the forest. The climb is quite long and involves several hairpin bends. When you leave the forest, you will reach the plateau.
(6) Cross the pasture straight ahead, heading towards the small village, and using the designated gateways. When you reach Mont de Laval, follow the D369 departmental road towards Luhier.
(7) Leave the village and at the first crossroads at Les Chaucheux, take the yellow and blue marked path on the left, which crosses the pastures. At the hamlet of Les Chaucheux, leave the road and turn left. You will rejoin the road at a spring catchment.
(8) Take the road on the right that leads to Montbéliardot. This is where the orchid trail starts. Cross the village of Montbéliardot, and just before the exit, turn left onto the path that goes uphill. Go through the fences and into the forest, crossing the orchid trail.
(9) Follow it to the right; the trail runs alongside a low wall, sometimes on the right, sometimes on the left. You will reach a sign indicating the circular 43.
(10) Turn left to descend into the forest. Once in the pasture, descend as straight as possible to reach the fence opposite. Turn left to reach the path near the Seigne farm.
Take the road on the left to the next crossroads.
(11) Turn 90° to the right, leaving the signpost to the left. Follow the road that takes you back to the top of the village of Plaimbois. Go down the main street to reach the town hall, church and car park (S/E).
